After All That Sowing, Look What's Growing!

We thought it would nice to have a place, where we can celebrate when our seedlings start to show their little faces above the soil.
Whether it's the first seed we've ever sown or the 1000th; if they've taken forever and we were about to give up on them or if they popped up in record time; this is the place to share the joy and wonder of a plant emerging from a seed

WHoop whoop! And I'm going to start the ball rolling with the news that my sweetcorn is finally, FINALLY starting to pop up There are 2 out of 12 pots with a teeny shoot just starting to show through! I'm so pleased, I've never had a problem with corn before, and I was beginning to think I'd lost my mojo!

i planted my free broccoli seeds on thursday and they have begun to to grow tiny leafs on the soil surface. Also my re-sown courgette seeds have started to grow. There was a tiny shoot when i went to bed last night and then when i got up this morning, it was there about 3 cm tall with 2 leafs!! YAY

the only thing not up is my corn .... i had some over a foot high started indoors, but the chooks ate it .... but carrots, parsnips, onions, tomatoes, peppers, squashes, courgettes, spuds, peas broad beans and various fruit seedlings all doing well and some brassicas that i have no idea what they are exciting innit .... oh yeah and i have some aubergines that decided to make a very late appearance a few days ago (planted january) under grow lights .... and as soon as i get some compost i will be starting some tobacco off again

I spent the whole of Feb and March trying to get my psb seedlings to get past 2 inches tall before keeling over and giving up the ghost. After about 3 or 4 attempts, a few finally decided that life was, after all, worth living and carried on getting incrementally bigger. After what seems like a very long time indeed, I was able to plant out 2 of them in the raised bed this weekend protected by plastic cloches. About 10 minutes later my neighbour leaned over the fence commented on the psb plants and said that she did them last year and didn't think they were worth the effort involved.
Hoping that I won't think the same by the end of the year...

I hadnt got round to sowing my runner beans so did them the other day and yay they are all coming up. Still got loads of things to sow but nowhere to put them after, as my lottie is almost full or I already have things to go in the spaces I do have. Going to have a furtle in my spud bag as they look almost ready and I have another 30 ready to go somewhere lol

Ah - but you are in the frozen north, Sarz! And look how far ahead Jackie is, in balmy Devon with her spuds nearly ready and all!

Now the bean frame is FINALLY almost set up, I feel that I can sow the climbing beans (in pots so I can keep an eye on them!)

Toms that were sown a while back finally coming up.....i ignored them for a while and went on hols....but they are liking it in the greenhouse now so are finally coming up.

Where do i start, well i suppose i'm most excited about my courgettes- i love courgettes and can't believe how fast they have grown!

Gonna take some more pics tonight to show my progress so far (My first time having ago at growing stuff and still very excitable about it lol)

My strawbs, tatas and onions all doing very well, Turnips starting to pop up as well as my spring onions, rocket, Mizuna and spinach.

So far so good!

Wow, the grandchildren's pumpkins are up and so quickly. Now I just need to dig up some more lawn to accommodate them!
