My compost bin stinks

I gave it a good turn today, all the new stuff is at the bottom now. Its quite wet, due to the grass I think So am trying to find as much card and paper as I can at the moment lol Would it be worthwhile leaving the lid off on a hot day to let some of the moisture out?

Hi Iggle I occasionally leave the lid off as I believe it lets the insects in, but I'm no expert. Wonder when the next hot day will be?
