River Cottage (Channel 4 programme and rivercottage.net) with Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall will be launching a high profile new media campaign to give people new opportunities to grow their own produce. The initial launch of the website will be a ‘matchmaking’ service where both landowners and wannabe gardeners can register via a postcode driven mapping system.

As part of the forthcoming series of the Channel 4’s River Cottage, we are looking for stories where people are already growing vegetables on other people’s land (sharing back gardens etc). The aim is to bring down the number of people on allotment waiting lists and galvanise people to map Britain’s potential food growing space.

If you know of any stories where people are successfully ‘land sharing’ then please contact fiona@keofilms.com or call 020 7490 3580. We are looking to start filming very soon so if you could send me your stories as soon as possible that would be great.
