Very nice, I want one!Originally posted by horticultural_hobbit View Post
Ta-Dah!
Mama and I built it. Then pops turned up-thinking why no one was home for lunch-as we were anchoring it. I was wielding a mallet at the time nearly jumped out of my skin. Surrendered the mallet. Then pulled on the cover and buried the skirt.
And mama now wants to go back and sort out the inside. Have only just had my lunch...and I'm
creaking.

Am creaking now. We went back. Pops and mama have dug over the inside. I ran out of anti-hot spot tape-the frame is metal-and have improvised with some gaffer tape. It'll help with skin pressing against the bar. It does look, lovely. It's a manageable size. Smallest on the plot. Else it wouldn't be hobbit sized now would it! That and I didn't want to sell a kidney to buy it. Gives me opportunity to try aubergines again, and perhaps an experimental melon.
Was a proper parental supervision job, i tell you.

You and your Mama with a little help from Pops have done a good job there HH.

Looks very similar to Bigmallly's and I'm sure there are other Grapes with one like that. I saw the instructions on the website Building a Polytunnel Garden Greenhouse Stage 1 of 2 - Feel Good UK very useful to give you an idea of what is needed. Good luck!!!

Well, that simplifies matters !
At that size, (unless you are thinking of maybe putting up a companion at some point) it won't make much difference whether you have it end on or side on to the sun, and the pressure of floodwater won't be that different either.
Might well be doable on your own at that size - I was thinking of mahoosive big ones. I've always just missed out on putting polytunnels up, myself (to my great regret), so can't really advise. But I know I'd have a go on my own, given ratchet straps and a calm, windless day...
Must dash off to my Sunday evening game of Bananas...have fun pondering !
