  • Hello everyone!!

Having spent a few weeks browsing this amazing forum I have decided to join in the fun!! I have to say that I've loved every minute searching around and have learned loads - a wealth of tips and experience to be found ! Thank you all.
I have always loved the great outdoors - most days I am fortunate enough to take my dog over the fields and through our local woods ( often see deer where i walk - just love to watch them). I also keep chicken - at the moment I've got 4.They are all laying well now after our awful winter and once again coming in the house at any given opportunity!!

I love veggie gardening and up until now have done most of my veg in pots with varied success - last year was a disaster
BUT this year I have got a greenhouse courtesy of our lovely neighbours who wanted to get rid of theirs to a good home !! Its about 8.5 ft x 7.5 ft and looks great - have already got a few seeds going - carrots, lettuce, beetroot, radish and garlic. Can't wait to get things really going ! !! Got a small veggie patch too about 9ft x 9ft -only thing is it doesn't get much sun. Anyway - weather down here in Sussex has been glorious today so have made the most of it coz my guessis it won't last long!
Anyway thanks again for a wealth of interesting advice !

Hi Sunnydaze, I joined not so long ago too and have been inspired already by the feedback and help on here. Also I have a veg patch in a shaded area too, so I have had to research what might cope well with that. It will be a test this year to see what works best but I was surprised that that list was quite varied (check out my thread for what I am planning http://www.growfruitandveg.co.uk/gra...den_77286.html ). I will be finding a sunnier spot to grow cherry tomatoes and mini courgettes.

I'm looking forward to seeing how your veggies do.

                  All the best Nicola.

Helloo and welcome Sunnydaze. You get used to the madness after a while
When weeding, the best way to make sure you are removing a weed and not a valuable plant is to pull on it.
If it comes out of the ground easily, it is a valuable plant.
