    Have you tried it freshly pulled from the soil, and shreded raw, or steamed or microwaved all in a matter of minutes after picking?
    We're not talking about beetroot in jars or vacuum packed - but the real beets, the ones you sowed and nurtured, and maybe named, and talked to each time you visited the plot.
    There's a world of difference.

      I've tried it as fresh baby beetroot in salad, roasted and glazed, in cheese toasties, in gratin, in homemade borscht....aaaand it just tastes like mud to me. Makes me sad because it looks so nice.
      I'll try it again once I've grown it but I have willing recipients should I still not be able to stomach it ; )

          Hah! Maybe a spin in the washing machine is needed!

          Anyway I like so many other vegetables I think I'm allowed to not like the odd one or two!
