I know the spec states not to use extension leads over 10m but I used mine over 30m no problem. This one has a thermal cut out switch for �20.

The way I see it Scarlet is you have 3 choices:

a) A Petrol Log Splitter.
b) An electric splitter plus extension lead.
c) As Nicos, an electric log splitter with generator.

Just wondered as in the house with solar panels the trip switch seems to be extra sensitive.

He won't regret it............One major tip!.........Do not stand at the end of the splitter when in use as it sometimes fires the logs like a rocket & could cause serious injury.

Good idea, it is of no risk to the operative as he stands at the side and needs both hands to operate it.

OH used it on the weekend. It didn't trip the electric. Absolutely brilliant bit of kit.

I think there is really 4 choices - and I use option d.

I have a PTO log splitter that I connect to the back of the tractor. Granted that does mean purchasing a tractor as well - but that could only be a good thing.
