In the spring of this year,I bought a couple of grape vines on a whim and found that I really enjoyed tending them and watching the fruit mature. I am now thinking of buying more vines but need some advice. The vines that I have are "regent" variety and have grown quite well. I live in the north of England between Manchester and Liverpool (hardly the med). I grow my vines outdoors in large pots in quite a sunny spot and I am thinking of maybe another variety of black grape and also a green/white variety. I would appreciate any advice on varieties that may grow well in my area and also any general advice.

Hi Geoff, I don't know much about grape vines although I do have a large black variety growing along a wall and think they do much better in the ground as they have very long roots.
You might be better posting this question in the fruit section and hopefully someone with a bit of experience will see it!
