You are so right Jay, there are so many aspects to a charity for the elderly. I choose to work in a shop and that suits me, but I see so many other people that not only volunteer in various aspects of elderly care, but also have paid positions.

The Stroke Association are a group of volunteers who befriend and help people who have had a stroke....very much needed with all the NHS cut backs!
Might be worth getting in touch with them?
You never know, you might be on a car route another volunteer is taking?

Hats off to you Carrie for volunteering to do something with your free time.
If I were employing someone , the fact you are motivated and keen to help others less fortunate than yourself would stand out like a shining star!...selfless, caring and motivated...well done

You'll also get your face noticed and if someone takes a shine to you, you may well get offered a job.

      Good luck x

A charity would have various section to support its main activity.

Admin/Central services would manage the admin, he, volunteer coordinators, finance, facilities, maintenance, contracts, marketing, publicity, etc.

Fundraising may have charity shops, telephone fund raising, legacy giving, street collectors, events organisers and more.

Delivery is what provides the core business. This may be cafe workers, support workers, cleaners, home helps, gardening, befriending, or anything else that supports the main reason for the charity existing.

A couple of quick links to get started with would be
