Hazel this afternoon we've got carrot and sultans buns I made a batch of 12 yesterday so plenty to go around.

I'll be making Nigel Slater's orange cake when I've finished shuffling these files; although I will have to nip up the road first as I'll need some more eggs. And an orange, thinking about it...

Hazel the buns are basic, 2 egg with 4x4x4 of butter sugar and flour tweaked a bit, I used 5oz flour, 4oz butter 3oz sugar, 3oz sultanas, 4oz grated carrot and half teaspoon cinnamon. The sultanas get soaked in tea or fruit juice then drained and if the mixture looks a bit dry I add milk or yoghurt.
I do like making buns and I refuse to call them cupcakes

Evening All. I'm sick of the snow - again. This is the third lot we've had since Saturnalia. I've managed to get to work every time, but this morning's taxi journey was scary. Only two of the candidates to be interviewed actually made it and I rewarded one of the others with a telephone interview when she had to give up after 3 hours of trying to make it! Those buns sound delicious Bren BTW, Midsomer was boring. I usually find it amusing, but the time really dragged last night, despite the murders.

Morning all

Well...we finally got some sleet!

Today is the annual trip to the vets for all Hibou's booster vaccinations including rabies.
Poor thing usually needs to sleep them off for a couple of days afterwards.
It does seem a lot of things all at the same time.

Oh....Hibou is our pussy cat by the way
