[Hazel at the Hill]

We've just finished our dinner - you will be proud of me Hazel, stickered red sirloin steak!! Boys were very pleased with me. Unfortunately my chilled white wine (sorry, don't like the red stuff!) froze solid in the freezer

I didn't get any yellow stickers from little Morries this evening, Scarlet, but at Tesc's yesterday I had a punnet of chestnut mushrooms for 10p (from �1), and some 'posh' carrots for 8p (from �1). They were selling a pack of 3 peppers for �1, which I put in my trolley, but put back again as I couldn't think what to do with them.

Dear me - rather an rookie error with the wine there, I think!

There's never enough room to put everything back into the squash/marrow Hazel. But that means there's lots of tasty leftovers. I've never put egg in ours though. I do put cheese on top. And breadcrumbs sometimes.

Hadn't thought of breadcrumbs, Fez - mind you, it hardly needed any 'padding'. It has a cheese topping, tho'.

Actually, the time that it's take to prep the squash; then the mince mix, then cook the darn things, then it is just as well that it has stretched!

I ate the 'overflow' with pasta earlier (do keep up, Trip ) before I went to the pub - the two squash halves you see here are cooling for dividing up in the morning.

It is grey here too but fairly mild - I have the back door open and the garden robin is giving a command performance out there

Good evening. How is everyone? Me and my OH have been watching films most the day. Just poured myself a glass of vodka and lemonade and waiting for my sis and her boyfriend so we can have tea.

Jacket spuds for us tonight....Turkey breasy and creamed mushrooms with lambs lettuce and tomato salad followed by plum crumble and custard!


Strangely , the plums are the only homegrown produce in our meal tonight!

Didn't do much today apart from venture out for a spin on the bike... Got 75k done and felt great afterwards...
Will undo all the positive health benefits later by venturing out for a number of creamy pints of Guinness
