  • moved into my new home a couple of months ago .... we never had wall decorations, so started shopping on ebay for oil paintings

bargains to be had! .... we have 2 really good ones so far by listed artists and they were very cheap considering the detail and the time taken to paint them

.... and here is my latest purchase for £21 (signed by the artist and dated ... 1975) ....

currently with the DHL couriers and should be delivered tommorow

it's framed and huge.... 102cm x 72 cm (40.2 inches X 28.3 inches) and will look good on a wall in my lounge:

Lovely! That's just how we did it, too. Wouldn't have it any other way. Hope you have a very long and very happy marriage.

                  • Tonight my salad included freshly picked peas, broad beans and red onion - whilst I had eaten both the peas and the broad beans direct from the pod/s earlier, I felt they tasted even better, (particularly the broad beans which had a lovely texture as well as taste), as part of the salad.

Oh and the thunderstorms and rain - my beans, corn and courgettes are growing like weeds now! Beans for lunch at the weekend - we might have to have a 'gravy dinner' - can there be anything finer than the first runner beans of the year?

                              • Have you ever started and indeed enjoyed, a good old chat with complete strangers about growing veg? I have, several times and again today in Wilk'os. A couple were choosing cabbage seed, so I joined in. We had a lovely chat, I'll probably never see them again, but I'll remember them. We covered cabbage whites, caterpillars, mesh, winter bras, especially PSB and the price of it amongst other things. My daughter wondered where I was! Happy days
