I bought a Chaenomeles [flowering quince - I'm learning all this latin gubbins....] and a Ligularia Przewalski. I only bought the second one because it was between that or a pineapple sage, and I always loved horses when I was a kid so the Przewalski pipped it by a mile

I bought a plastic cloche greenhouse because it was half price in Wilkinsons and some seeds which were also half price - dwarf runner beans (Hestia), mixed salad leaves and chard (white silver). I then went into Aldi and bought some more seeds - purple sprouting broccoli and garden pearl tomatoes - because they were 39p each. I have a seed addiction and despite my seed tin being full I still buy more seeds I keep telling myself there are worse addictions in life than buying seeds.....

Pot of leeks (1.29 from local GC) - some of mine have come but not as well as I hoped. Tomato food from the Pound Shop, tray of mixed herbs - 99p from Aldi as they are dire need of some TLC - chives, parsley, basil, marjoram, mint and oregano. If I can revive them they will be a bargain! Looking around for cheapest MPC.

This lot from a lovely nursery in Blunham, Bedfordshire. Stumbled across it after I'd been to look at chickens in Barns Poultry Centre in Moggerhanger.
I got a fushia, don't normally like them but this one's amazing,Salad Burnet, Diascia and Purple Millet.
No hens! They were lovely but pricey.45 for Wyandotte bantie.Or is that the going rate?

4 x 4ft cloche hoops, which at 44inches tall ought to be big enough for the broccoli and kale

Also just raided the plot abandoned by our ex-committee-chair (at the invitation of the committee) and have enough brand new pots and cell-trays to keep the school garden going for yonks, and all for free!

Was that the one with three interchangeable meshes? I was tempted by that!

The very one! You should grab one. I've been sieving, then chucking the lumps back in just for the pleasure of sieving all over again
Kidding of course. I'll never have to buy seed compost again, it's really good.

I am the queen of homebase cheapo purchases. They have no idea what plants they have and anything deciduous they reduce to 50p (cause i assume the leaves have all gone and they think it on the way out) and i look after it and either give thm as gift or if i like plant them in my garden. I got a pretty climbing rose and a berbaris (huge one) for 3 in total bargain
