Suggestions for old trug use!

Aah, but my copper pipe was on a heap of junk at the car boot. "How much do you want for this?" says I. "Aw you can have that love" says he.............. result! Better than a fiver for a new drill bit that makes decent size holes - the one with the pointy end to centre it.



Matches are a good start VC, but you'd be better off using them to start a bonfire to heat the pipe. You could have baked 'tatos and hot marshmallows for lunch while you're waiting for the pipe to heat up.

I use a long skewer and a cook's blow torch or the gas flame on the stove.

Chuck it away?? Impossible, Snadger. It can carry on doing what its been doing for months now - holding kindling for the fire, or wet wellies in the porch.
When I noticed that 3 trugs were lined up in front of the fire that I thought I should do something. One with sticks, one with logs and the other with aired washing. There was no room for me and the dogs

I have the same problem, a nice little trug that one of the students was a bit rough with so was swapped with one of my own....i use it in the greenhouse for 'organic waste' - the beauty being that because i know that the handles are broken, i don't fill it up as much as I would usually and instead of throwing things in it [as it's so hard to carry] I am inclined to put compostable stuff at the bottom of the next plant pot and let it compost there rather than bin it and carry it to the garden for composting itself.

If I wasn't using it for that I'd cut new holes myself. In fact I might do that anyway.

What do you call it snadger?, I could call it the recycling centre if you'd prefer, ours recycles plastics.

Personally I call it the tip, and its in a beautiful location overlooking the sea!!.
