With regards to the wee soaked floor boards my advice would be bite the bullet and change them. Urine will have soaked right through the timber I doubt very much whether a surface cleaner will work.

As to the shower door I think you are barking up the wrong tree. If it were lime scale the acid in vinegar would certainly have an effect. It is more likely to be a combination of soap residue and body fats so you want a grease remover. I have successfully used industrial wipes (made for cleaning the hands) many times. They are about £8 a tin available from the Depot amongst other places and of course many more uses.

For the shower, citric acid - as in the stuff from Wilkos.

For the floorboards, I'd say sandalwood essential oil, diluted in carrier oil - just enough to make it go far enough!

Try white vinegar or lemon juice I use it for loads of things that pong. You could soak the floor boards and let them dry and if this doesn't work it will be a replacement job!

I wouldn't mess about. Renew the floor . Only basic joinery ability needed, no huge element of skill involved

Pet shops are usually more expensive, try budget shops first. Think i got my stuff from Wilko's. Incontinent cat again ,poo and wee, now solved following diagnosis of Lymphoma and expensive chemotherapy & steroids every week but now every month.

Best thing to get rid of wee smells is bio washing powder and warm water. Works on removing dog/cat pee smells....

OWG beat me to it. Biological washing powder is the thing to use. The enzymes break down the proteins and it has the benefit of not costing a fortune.

After reading this thread I have visions of an elderly couple either cocking a leg or squatting on the floor boards of their bathroom

Wet toilet paper with vinegar and stick it in place, more than one application will be needed but the toilet/tissue paper keeps the vinegar on the offending limescale

I always used to clean the limescale out my kettle with half a bottle of own brand cheeapo vinegar and top up with water then switch kettle on to warm it up(not boil) and leave for 15-30 mins always came out spotless after

Perhaps we should ask whether there actually is a toilet in the room!

But if there hadn't been a carpet to sop it up, it would have been right through the ceiling as well..
