I can't believe I'm posting this but one of my friends is pregnant, she didn't know until yesterday and she's having the baby on Monday.
She's my friend and business partner. We work together in the same office.
She's been to the doctor 3 times in the last few months because she was coming down with every infection going. She's had two pregnancy tests that proved negative, and an examination where the doctor said she was probably suffering from fibroids. She was bleeding non-stop for 6 months.
She was so run down and ill that I stood over her while she reluctantly phoned her doctor for another appointment. Within an hour (she doesn't drive) she asked for a lift to the hospital, where she still is.
She has nothing prepared and this is a Bank Holiday weekend. I'm having great difficulty explaining to her friends and family that we have more than 4 days as there is not a cat in hells chance of that baby being allowed out of the hospital in the near future.
She's my friend, and I'm so worried for her and the baby.
