Will not be celebrating it as no Americans (or extra days off work!) here
The native americans provided food (deer and turkeys) and shelter to get the first pilgrims through the winter, otherwise they would all have perished. This is disputed; Oyate Web Page

Happy Thanksgiving to all those celebrating, anyway.
And add a quick call to Devon to pick me up, I have pumpkin and cabbage.
Happy Thanksgiving, and thanks for the reminder to send an email to my American Penfriend. ( over 40 years of freindship )

Hoping all my American friends have a good time. No, it won't be a public holiday here (nor is Bastille day, which I believe is a Holiday in France?) as it is not about a British event.

          hope you enjoy your weekend.

i won't be celebrating it, but i will make a pumpkin pie at the weekend. i/we always used to celebrate it, as i grew up in the states. it was probably my favorite holiday, of them all.

i do sort of celebrate it nowadays, as at some point in tha day, i try to focus on the many things i have to be thankful for. ( not the original meaning, but close enough for me) and i always make a pumpkin pie.

Its a bit of a feast planned. I inherited the mother-in-law's recipes and am cooking for OH and his brother so I hope I get it right for them. We had a bit of a hitch as a friend has just announced she is pregnant, so can't eat some of the bits I was making. So individual chocolate puddings, rather than pots.

Dont celebrate it myself, but have one or two American friends, so always think particularly about them on Thanksgiving Day.

“If your knees aren't green by the end of the day, you ought to seriously re-examine your life.”

"What lies behind us and what lies before us are tiny matters compared to what lies within us." Ralph Waldo Emerson

My daughter and my two grandsons live in America and they will be celebrating today.

And when your back stops aching,
And your hands begin to harden.
You will find yourself a partner,
In the glory of the garden.
