I watched it but really only enjoyed the bits where Alan was demonstrating the 'how to do this at home' stuff. That's what I used to like about him on G.World, very straightforward instructions & a friendly manner.

Dont usually like him but must admit the programme was good. Very interesting, lots of how to stuff and ideas of what to do. Will watch again

I like Alan's personality and down to earth manner, but I've never been able to pin him down as a gardener. With most gardeners you get to know their signature plants and ideas, but Alan never seems to come across with a strong point of view. Then again, maybe that's why he's popular.

Have watched it a few times now; there is a bit too much on hedges and lawns for my liking, my 2 pet hates, but the other bits and bobs, like the fruit trees, was good for me.

I really like the plants-in-the-table idea he did last night

It wasn't veg based - no, all the episodes are more design/concept/ideas based really.
What I liked about all of the programmes was his non-use of Latin names, he always seems to opt for local/common names - quite refreshingLast edited by piskieinboots; 02-12-2010, 08:01 AM.aka

He is on a lot of things at the moment and writes for a gardening mag, plus I saw a new book at the library. How does he find the time!
