Can someone recommend a Wireless Router?

I don't want to waste money on a useless one that keeps disconnecting, so wondered if you lot have any recommendations.

EDIT: Don't know if it makes a difference, but we are connected by cable to my Dad's BT Home Hub, next door. Long story!

we have a BT (wireless) homehub: we don't have that many problems with it (usually twice a year on average it will play up, doesn't last long though)

you should be able to connect to the home hub wirelessly they are pretty robust bits of kit

My Dad's Hub is next-door. I am connected by cable to that, as it is too far for the signal to reach. I want to connect two computers, wirelessly, at this end of the cable.

Why wont it , just configure the wireless router with the proper IP address of the gateway on the BT Home Hub router and you should be good to go (and the correct DNS address), if you want to set it so that the wireless router gives out DHCP make sure that the scope is outside the scope of the BT Home hub. In the past we have used netgear wireless stations and they work okay, with the occasional reboot required.

Sorry, router/modem I was told they are the same thing. But you get the gist of what I want to do from post five.

Hi Glutton,
what happens is that the BT home hub will give out an IP address to a connecting device via DHCP, if you then put a wireless router on that, it also can be configured to give out an IP address via DHCP but there is a danger than both units will attempt to give connecting devices the same IP address which would cause a conflict, so you would want to either disable DHCP on the wireless device or set it so it gave out a different range of IP address (this is called "scope"). If it were me then I might be inclined to set the wireless router with DHCP enabled but with a different scope but then I like causing difficulties for self.
