As I understand it - it's recommended to water seedlings with tap water to avoid the possibility of transferring diseases, or other such nasties that may accumulate on roofs, or in water butts. I was just thinking aloud really - wondering if seedlings watered with hard water would do differently to those with soft.

On a totally different subject, but still hard/soft water related, I've found that if I stay in an area where there's soft water, my dry skin gets better. No brainer really, maybe we should move somewhere wi'soft water...

I always use rain water to water my seedlings and have never had a problem with any kind of diseases.

And when your back stops aching,
And your hands begin to harden.
You will find yourself a partner,
In the glory of the garden.
