I'm happy the nights are going to start drawing out again, I don't see daylight in the week, I go to work in the dark and I go home in the dark. It's no wonder I'm looking pale and pastey.

As the days grow longer the cold grows stronger

The Winter Solstice marks the first day of winter (or at least the start of the really bad weather!)

I get really down in the gloomy months - but have discovered that sunshine on snow is as good as a SAD light and its free! Happy winter solstice: time to get organised (again!)
Whooops - now what are the dogs getting up to?

Looking out of my window, I can see the snow melting and siding and dripping off the roof opposite. Quite appropriate really, because the winter solstice always reminds me of Narnia, where the White Witch has had the land locked into winter, and then Aslan returns and Spring begins to arrive

Yay! for the return of lighter days And 'Happy Yule' to anyone properly celebrating.

Will light a Yule log tonight (the fire!), so wishing all who celebrate such, a very cool Yule.
