      I like this one.

"In Italy for thirty years under the Borgias they had warfare, terror, murder and bloodshed but they produced Michelangelo, Leonardo da Vinci and the Renaissance.

In Switzerland, they had brotherly love; they had five hundred years of democracy and peace and what did they produce?

      The cuckoo clock."

Why do buttered pieces of bread always land butter side down?

Why is it that when you don't need something you see hundreds of it but when you do you can't find one anywhere?

Why does someone elses chocolate always taste better than your own, even it is the same sort of chocolate?

Why does no one make apple crumble anywhere near as good as my mum's?

The chances of it falling buter side down is directly proportional to the cost and or the difficulty of cleaning it..

Thank you for introducing me to Plutach. I looked up his biography and discovered this phrase:
"When the candles are out all women are fair"

I'll remember that one for sure

The world is the imagination of a large marshmallow with a bad sense of humour.

Can't remember where this came from but I'm failry sure it wasn't me.
