Loads of you had to put up with me chuntering on all day yesterday, with everything going wrong with my baking for the Show today

I managed to get up early enough this morning to bake a batch of scones (so they'd be nice and fresh) and get everything to the Hall and set up in good time. Forgot to take doilies but a very nice lady (who usually sweeps the board and gets the Most Points in Section) gave me some of her spares.
There seemed to be a lot more entries this year, especially in the '4 scones', 'Jar of Jam/Jelly' and 'Chutney' classes.

Once you've staged your entries, everyone has to leave by 11am while judging happens, and then you come back at 2.30 when they open for the public to see who's won what. I managed to sneak a few pics before leaving.

By the time I got home, I had the beginning of a horrid headache and I had to take 2 painkillers and go straight to bed, thought I was going to miss going back - had all the classic signs; cheekbone ache, disturbed vision, feeling sick... But must have stopped it just in time, woke up at 2pm feeling just about human thankfully.

DD decided she was coming with me, the malefolk being too glued to the GP to come down!

Anyway.... Went in, walked down the row, and was utterly gobsmacked to see:

      1st - Chocolate Cake
      1st - Victoria Sandwich
1st - Jar of Jam (was strawberry)
      1st - Jar of Marmalade
      2nd - Jar of Chutney
      2nd - Shortbread
      3rd - Shortbread

Best Exhibit in Section (Choc Cake)
Silver Plate - Most Points in Section

      ............

Nothing for the scones, or the biscuits, but who's complaining?!

So, sooooo chuffed I had to show off a little

Dad and his 'friend' even came down to see it, and she was much less annoying, so 'result' all round

Truly fabulous! When can I pop over to sample your fine fare?
I was feeling part of the scenery
I walked right out of the machinery
My heart going boom boom boom
