frogs

I have a new allotment, I have found a recipe on the net for snails, which was very nice, bit crunchy but hey.

I have uncovered two baths sunk into the ground, frogs everywhere. The thing is, are these edible or are edible frogs a special breed.

I do hope you're winding us up. Frogs are one of your best friends on the lottie - they eat slugs and snails which if left would eat all your crops

If you have frogs/toads don't use slug pellets you could end up killing the frogs.
I have lots of frogs on my lottie & very few slugs.

Don't they only eat frog's legs in France? If you're not winding us up can you really see yourself pulling the legs off poor defenceless creatures?!!!!!!!!!!!

If you want to eat frogs and the frogs eat the slugs and the slugs eat the pellets
pherhaps there'd be a health risk to you?

Not only do they only eat the legs but cut them off the living frog!! I am all for eating animals but they mustn't suffer. You can eat the snails, not sure about slugs. I think I'll give them a miss!

Yes I am pleased to say that this was a wind up. My OH thought that everyone was far too serious on here. I am currently looking for ways to improve my plot for the frogs, from using a lot less pellets to looking for a used pond on ebay to get rid of the two baths. Missed one last week, went for �2.60. I even have a good lookout down the paths before I strim them and place any errant frog in the bath out of the way 'til I finish.

Serious - US?? You obviously haven't spent enough time reading the posts. We can be serious if needed, and you'll get a lot of good advice, but this forum is about being friendly and having fun

our next door neighbour on lottie has a pond and she has A LOT of frogs! I have been watching them tonight fast little things........slug feast for them lol

I did have frogs on my lottie, I also have plenty of snails/slugs - I remember watching how frogs flick out their long tongue to eat flies, but do they really eat slugs/snails?
