        Brilliant stuff Ollie
I was feeling part of the scenery
I walked right out of the machinery
My heart going boom boom boom
"Hey" he said "Grab your things
I've come to take you home."

It's not over yet, just got this response from him:

HI ollie.. i have some bad news
i have a problem with the van that i use.
                it sprang a leak....petrol all-over
                the hope for your freezer
                it could be over

could be a while..before it is mended
so picking it up will be suspended
                i have ordered a patch
                to fix my tank
it makes me feel ..a bit of a plank

                i have to say sorry
                i messed you around
                but keep the freezer
                dry and sound

if you could keep it.. for maybe a week
i will have a go at mending my leak

                but if you are desparate
                and you really need rid
                then put it on offer
                and get a good bid

                you made me feel sad
                about the bids you had
                with daughters and mothers
                and poor old brothers

                i want the fridge freezer
                to put in my shed
                just for my beer
and a few loaf's of bread

                so let me know
                what you want to do
                its goodbye from me
                and over to you...

I don't know if I should hang on to it for him, give it to another, or take it of and put it on ebay!

He deserves it. Those with sob stories could be telling porkies. This guy is being straight with you (and in rhyme).
If keeping it is a problem, you gotta do what works, but otherwise, I would say keep it until he can collect.

                      Just sent him:

I'll save it; however you must,
wait til the beginning of august,
                      I'm going away,
for 2 weeks and a day,
after that, when you want, I'm not fussed.

Bless! how could you not give it to the author of the poem?

                              FANTASTIC!

This is amazing! You have now officially started an interaction with another human being and the entirity of your communication has been via poems!

Dare you both to go for haikus next!

Someone on a group near me was offering some garden tools (including a Wolf interchangeable thingy with 3 attachments) and I was so tempted to try and compose a poem when requesting it... bottled it though and just sent a polite email...

... am now the proud owner of the tools though!

I just saw an add on freecycle for some optics, so thought I'd try the old poem technique and see if it works FOR me. So rattled out this beauty:

I read your message and wrote you a rhyme,
in the hope you'd make the optics mine,
I'd use the for vodka, gin and rum,
or even a bottle of squash can be done.

I'd really like them to put in my place,
and hope there are no other requestors to face,
but if there are, i'm sure they'll give a good case,
it's up to you, but picking me would be ace!

                                Thanks :-)

                                Got the following reply:

Ha ha excellent! Only one other request so far and it wasn't as fantastic as this one. When would you be able to collect them? Next few days I'm free tomorrow after 2 and Saturday all day and most of Sunday. Actually, I'm free most of most days because I'm on maternity leave so you decide.

Seems it's fool-proof. If this catches on people will really have to 'up their game' to get free stuff!
