Found my first pallet today!

Dumped on a grassy bank, so I took it before the local kids got bored and decided to set fire to it! It was free, but the look on Mr C's face when I got home was priceless lol! I made him get it out of the car and take it up the path, with the neighbours watching (like I care what they think) Spent the next hour taking it to bits, only one bit of wood split. So, there we go another freebie for the lottie. What does everyone make with their pallets? I just want it for edgings for beds.

I found some empty (but a bit whiffy) fish boxes (the blue crate things) in Brighton in a skip, and took them back to our hotel.
Mr Sheds refused to let them in the room, or in the car.

Undefeated, I hid them under the car until the day we left, and then insisted he had a leisurely bath while I packed the car for him.

You should have seen his face when we arrived back in Norfolk

I like freebies, and our local wyvale are very good at giving up pallets in obscene quantities, they've also been treated and coloured blue (not so good).
I have a palleted compost bin, raised bed, deck, and am contemplating a shed at the mo. My crow bar is a very useful tool when taking apart pallets, I find the euro pallets are the hardest, the weaker, and thinner pallets are much easier.

The Blue pallets are "owned" by CHEP UK Ltd and only registered users are allowed to use them.

I perserved today with a chisel and a rather small hammer. I only split one of the slats because I wacked it with the hammer lol! Can you post some pics of your deck and raised bed Mikey?

It's the supplier not Wyvale who end up paying as the supplier is the renter of the pallets.
I did security at a place that had 1000s of them & my main job wss to check the pallets in(empty) & out(full).

Well you learn something new everyday, the blue is quite bright, but I doubt Chep would want them back now, as they are knee deep in compost, of the horse variety.
