A nice pint of booze

Many years ago when I was first legally allowed to drink, my favorite pint was a pint of mild.

Down this neck of the woods nowadays if you go and ask for mild you get a strange look as no one knows what it is, so have not had it for years ;(.

Imagine my delight when in morrisons 30 minutes ago I noticed that they sold it in cans,, whooa had to treat myself to a case did'nt I , so sat here now with a pint of mild thoroughly enjoying it.

What was your first drink that you loved then and still love now ??

mine was when i was 13 went on a hot date to the pictures ... borrowed sisters clothes, and she did make up ... cos it was an 18 film lol ..... went to the pub after, cos the guy decided it was a good plan, and i had no idea what to drink, anyway, we got to the bar and he gave me money and said get me a pint of lager anyway a girl in front of me ordered a pint of lager and half a lager and black ... i thought it sounded ok, so that's what i ordered too .... and have drunk it ever since well till i gave up drinking lol ... though i do have the odd one when i go out

the pint of choice when i were a lad was HSD, Hicks special draught from St Austell Brewery, locally it was known as high speed diesel.

they also made a really nice pint of mild as well, guess what i will be doing when i next go back to Kernow.

My local always has at least one mild on hand pump.
But I prefer porter to mild(Batemans salem porter is one of my Favourites)

Cider, something closer to scrumpy than 'Woodpecker', but not TOO dry (the very dry scrumpy tastes like I imagine paint stripper would taste, but OH likes it). I also like some Real Ales (preferably dark, but malty rather than hoppy, or 'barley wine' types).

My drink experience has been a largely transient affair until recent years, and therefore my early drink favourites are far removed from my now favourites. Can't remember my first "legal" drink - might say something.

oh yes, we get that from our local supermarket quite a lot. just the very thing chilled on a summers day...yum.

I admit that I drink alcohol very rarely. Last time was about two years ago and it was a Tia Maria with coke. It taste`s like cola cubes. My drink of choice is Pepsi.

Some of the first drinks i tried as a teenager have quite traumatic memories for me, ie. the night we tried to drink 12 rum and blacks with the inevitable consequences!!
I loved bottled beer as a student, easy to hold onto in clubs too. Now i love chilled cider it is my very favourite drink of all time, refreshing and one of your five a day, well it is made from apples!!
Really like Mead too but only have that when we are re-enacting as goes with the period.

I wouldn't mix Tia with fizzy stuff. If you mix equal parts of Tia and single cream (or evaporated milk) it is a bit like Bailey's (but I think it is nicer). Another favourite of mine is spritzer. When on a no-booze evening (most of them at present) I often make juice spritzers, equal parts of apple or grape juice (or more exotic juices if available) and sparkling water.

Snakey B was my teen drink. <Hangs head in shame> I have a Belgian fiance so now there's always Duvel and leffe in my house, and Fullers Porter, to keep the English end up! :-)

My local sometimes has it on draught & Sainsbury's had it last week 3 for �4.
