Anybody watching this?

Chap leaves Bristol to become a crofter/beachcomber on west coast of Scotland. He's living in a cottage next to a beach and the scenary is fantastic.

Loved it! Fantastic countryside. But he has no chimney/stove in his 'shed', he will freeze in the winter!

Did you notice all the gaps between roof and wall as well? Lovely in the summer...winter brrrrr!

I fell in love with Rueben, naughty doggie for chasing the hens. Monty and Rueben will not just freeze in Winter, also try Spring, Summer, and Autumn. Oh and then there's the midgies (might be okay with the sea breezes) Hubby and I were talking after the programme we would live there if he wasn't ill. Applecross is a fab place but the roads are scary especially with people unused to passing places.

He is only there for 6 months, not year round. I think he started in April, meaning he'll be back to the cosy south and central heating by end of October at the very latest. Sure, that can be cold up there I bet, but not quite the depths of winter.

Applecross is a lot busier now than when we visited 35 years ago. I don't think there WAS a village back then (we certainly didn't see one, but it was a day-trip from Kyle of Localsh, where we were staying for those few days, or would it be from Plockton where we stayed part of that holiday????)........ I believe there were plans for a 'round the coast' road at the time (as an alternative to going over the top), but from the program it didn't look as if there was such a road in operation now.

I watched it last night too. Looked very picuresque. Not sure I'd want to live alone that isolated permanently though. None of the locals seem to have a particularly Scottish accent though, is this normal for the west coast?
