Mr Sheds has just brought down a binliner full of shirts for me to eBay. I quite enjoy it, but it takes hours of work listing, photographing, packing and posting them.

I find the more time and info you put into listing.....along with as many good photo's as possible (I use Auctiva which is a free listing tool that gives you for FREE many of the features that eBays turbo lister charges you for!) helps reap more rewards!

PS The scanner I've just bought with a jointed lid that allows you to photocopy quite thick books is a Godsend!

Don't think you could scan a shirt though!

A tailors dummy would be helpful for selling clothes I would guess?

I sold loads of books on ebay oct/dec 2005 and earnt enough for ALL my spending money for my New York trip that December.

When I used to do it more regularily...before my allotmenteering days, I used to make enough to pay for the families annual holiday abroad.

Now instead of going sourcing books to sell......I go to the allotment!

All my hobbies have a reward involved with them.....selling books.......allotmenteering........fishing and using my metal detectors!

A hobby to me, must be able to go at least some way to paying for itself!

Even my chooks are self financing!

Sold a couple of Monty's biographies a while ago...........made good money from what I remember.

I'm not as 'mercenary' as you think I am! I have a collection of signed fist editions which number possibly 40 books. I'd have to be pretty hard up to part with them!

Oh I don't know, I've been selling books for a number of years now but not many take off....but it's nice when they do.
I remember getting a hold of quite a few Strand and Punch volumes from the 1800's, originally just to read, but depending who were the authors featured in them or the cartoonists/illustrators they would fetch up to �80 to �90 a piece.

Once sold a very small 1st Communion book that was full of 14th century pictorial script for �40 to an Ameican Priest! .............It cost me 5p from a box of rubbish!

I dunno......I pick things up that I either like myself or I think someone else might like.
If I don't list the latter I'll never find out if they were worth buying and I won't be able to post 'Didn't I do well' threads on the vine! Theyr'e no good to me but I could just possibly make someone's day..........and line my pocket at the same time.

I suppose it's my surrogate 'Thrill of the chase' type of thing!

Books are treasure.

I love eBay, it's great for buying bookcases. You need to if you can't part with books. I have loads of fiction stories that I've read once but won't part with. I never read a book twice though! Mental?
