My niece wanted a recipe that she saw the other day on tv and couldnt afford to buy the book just for a list of ingrediants, she can remember how to make it but not the ingrediants so she just took a photo of it on her phone.!!!

Her recipes are great but she's sickly, too sweet and eeeeuuuyyyuk, why is she always trying to turn the cameraman to jelly, mind you if it was HW on the other end of the lens he would have melted by now

To be honest, both she and Rachel Allen I can watch on mute.

Well I think she's fab, and it's nice to see buxom birds on the telly for a change. Bought MIL her book for crimbo a couple of years ago, it was fab, just as well because it cost a packet. When she gets bored with it hopefully it'll come my way.

OH was a Chef, and hates cookbooks, but he likes her style of cooking; nice and relaxed, bung it all in, and it comes out lovely. Bit like Jamie Oliver but with a little more finesse...

In all honesty I'd never trust a skinny cook.
As said above I like her style of cooking ,granted some of the ingredients can be hard to find out here in the wilds of Northern Ireland
And on a purely ,selfish personal view I love to see a well proportioned full figured woman- the stick thin size zero's do absolutely nothing for me. Give me the choice of Nigella or Victoria Beckham I'm taking Nigella . And she can cook

I'm watching it avidly, partially because I'm trying to maintain my weight and watching her is like having virtual fat/sugar etc

Watching the girdle buster made my teeth ache, and the chili jelly made my eyes sting (yes I have put in contacts after chopping chilies), and my OH can't stand her, but I love the pretty programme and the food and the pretend guests. I'm trying to think if a male cook could get away with all the flirting and pouting though, have visions of Gordon Ramsey coming over all girly with the camera - he's cute without trying!

I think her mantra is use the best you can within your budget. Thats the gist I got from reading the book anyways.

Interesting programme folks... But am I missing something here? I just don't get the attraction. I get this type of cooking all the time at home and even though Shirls isn't quite as tall as Nigella I get all the associated treats. Who needs food porn on TV when I am lucky enough to get it for real here at Chez Rimmer!

I have been sworn to secrecy on Shirls' roast potato and rib recipies...

Bookings now being taken for Crimbo 2009...
                              Let's go diggin' dirt....

Hehe, you'll be in Shirls good books now with praise like that.

I watched Jamie last night (porn free), his Xmas recipes were honestly to die for and Gennaro was lovely as usual. The ideas with the turkey leftovers seriously did it for me - yummy.
