Good afternoon, weather has been a bit mixed today with sunshine and showers, at the moment its sunshine 🌞 with some big dark clouds coming in, thankfully daughter comes home from her holidays tonight, I've had to attend to the boys and making sure one of them takes his medication as well as taking him to and from his work, I thought my days of having to get up at 5 were past, and of course I always waken half an hour before the alarm is due to go off, no matter what time I go to my bed, then there's the dogs to be walked, along with the housework to be done and with my knees beginning to give me problems I feel knackered, then just to add insult to injury, I have received several notifications and a couple of phone calls wishing me a happy birthday, evidently there's far to much information on the internet, I think I better stop before you all think I am just a grumpy young man.
I hope to get out to the greenhouse in a wee while as I have over 30 fuchsia to pot on, but first I am off to make the tea, so have a pleasant evening and pass on your wonderful smiles

Morning all.

Heavy rain here, and from the look of the weather map, we're all sharing it. Set to be wet all day, if there's a break I may plant out my runners and let the rain settle them in.
Haircut later, but first I'll get the kettle on.

Rain all day for us too I think. Will have a pootle to do a small grory hop , gc visit and wherever else. Dog can come for the ride if she fancies.

Another work morning after all. But the garden will get some attention this evening, when it gets a bit cooler. Chilly now but summer is due to arrive today. Fingers crossed it's just a blip and not just the start. We're due top twenties and low to mid thirties in a few days.

First off, Jack needs a walk and then I'd better settle at the computer.

Good morning.

The weather is wet and miserable here too with possible thunderstorms later. I did hear a couple coupled rumbles of thunder yesterday afternoon but saw no lightening.

I dropped a few more bits and bats off at the Hospice shop yesterday, and then had a wander and bought another 5 books (Harlan Coben, Karen Slaughter, and Frederick Forsyth). I don't know why I suddenly went off reading a few years ago, but the good thing about it is there are lots of good books that I missed. There's also a lot of older ones that I read so long ago that I've forgotten that I've read them.

I then went to Next to look at boys clothes, a very specific hint (size, style and favourite colours) from my spoilsport sister regarding my great nephew's upcoming birthday. I don't think that I was ever really forgiven for the cheap plastic trumpet I gave him as a stocking filler one Christmas.🤣🤣🤣🤣

I then wandered into the large charity shop, mostly furniture, next door. They've got a wooden bookcase in there. I know that it would go so well in my lounge, better than the one that I 've got. I fear that it might just be too big however. I'll measure the gap later and go and see if it's still there.

We've now got 26°C forecast for Friday and looking out at the current grey murk it seems hard to visualise.

Light drizzle here too- rather unexpected..so much so that OH had left some solar lights out in their boxes to remind him to hang in the fruit trees for our guests to enjoy. Pity- coz the boxes are useless now for winter storage later on this year.

Another quiet day for me but I’m going to try and have a very light potter around on and off today. Take it as it comes.

I’ve just checked out our forecast Snoop…31°C this Friday…

Thanks Snoop I was trying to ignore the latter part of Flo's comment, but must admit I did so like the first sentence, so true, as for candles, unfortunately I couldn't purchase any as the shop keeper wanted proof of age before selling me some of those sparkly candles, apparently you need to be over a certain age to buy them, as for just normal candles again apparently there seems to be a shortage of them dont know whither it's related to all the problems thats going on just now but he had to post a load down to his brotber who has a shop in Sheffield I think it is as there's some old biddy needing quite number for her large birthday cake, which should be ok as they have arranged for the fire service to be on stand by
