    • The drawers under our bed (that came with the bed) have wheels on - but it does mean there's not as much storage space in them as the ones we had in our old divan where the drawers were on runners.

      • Good afternoon all.
GF, that's some heavy work you've done, just don't overdo it.
We have a king size bed with drawers and a double wih legs,
The double has storage boxes underneath which are on castors so quite easy to reach.
I only store light clothes in the underneath drawers so no problems with the bottom falling out.

        Flo, hope OH improves soon.
        Your hair looks nice.

        Have a good day all.

And when your back stops aching,
And your hands begin to harden.

When I said that I don't like valances I was thinking of the gathered polyester cotton curtain-like ones that my mother had back in the 70s and 80s. I have however discovered that you can now get stretch ones in different fabrics that fit snugly around the sides of the bedframe, but that you can ease up to get to whatever is underneath. This is now making me consider a wood or metal bedframe where I could still store Christmas cr*p and various other little used items out of sight, but that I could empty and clean under every blue moon or so.

          • Flo enjoy your meal this evening and your hair does look nice
Our last bed had a sprung base and that was heavy to get downstairs this time we went for an ordinary base no drawers or springs.

            • Afternoon, have a lovely time Flo.
Well it’s been sunny, rainy and windy today. Chilly too, in fact I have put the heating on for an hour. When is it going to warm up?!!
Well done GF. We vacuumed under and behind our bed recently, between the two of us we found it hard to move!Enjoy the rest of your evening folks! x

                • Morning

Rain here for the day, just a bit of seeds sowing but that will be it for gardening. I'll probably be in my craft room making cards there's a couple of birthdays coming up.

                  Enjoy your day

                  • Morning all.

Shortlived storm yesterday. Fortunately. Hailstones the size of gobstoppers first time around. Not sure why but we have storms that swirl around and come back. The later hailstones were pea sized, so no damage done. Very chilly start to the day and looks like we might be back into frost temperatures over the weekend. That's a month later than our usual last frost. Makes me feel a lot better that I'm so far behind...

Paid work on the cards today. But that's OK. Gardening leave next week, I think.

                    Have a great day, everyone.

                        • Good morning.

I never got to the recycling centre yesterday due to some horrendous roadworks with really long queues. There isn't really an alternative viable route that doesn't add miles to the journey due to the river, railway lines, and moronic one-way system, so in the end, I gave up.

When I delved into the depths of the ottoman before I destroyed it I found some wallpaper that I half remember buying in a sale several years ago. There is a lot of one sort, enough to do any of my rooms, and a small amount of another. I really like the one that I haven't got a lot of and I was thinking how nice it would look in my bedroom and how annoying it is that there isn't enough when I suddenly thought .... but there is enough for three walls. I think I'll keep my eyes open for something that would go with it.

The weather is miserable this morning. 8°C and raining.

                          • I'm a bit confused:- Got an email from D.T. Brown about some of their offers.

The grafted pepper plants seem to be a bit weird.

                              • A very productive morning.

The roadworks had finished. I got to the recycling centre and didn't have to queue for the first time ever. Noon must be the time to go.

I then went into the actual city centre. Amazingly you can now have 2 hours free parking. I wanted to investigate a particular bed shop, not one of the big chains. I didn't intend to actually buy a bed today but I saw exactly what I wanted (but in a different colour). He's delivering it, in my colour, tomorrow. and taking my old mattress away.

On the way back to my car I called into a charity shop and picked up 3 books by favourite authors.

                                I
