Evening all.

I went for a walk to my local country park today, and on the way passed some either Irish travellers or Romani camped on a wide verge. They had three magnificent barrel-top wagons, more heavily gilded than I have ever seen, they dazzled in the sun. I wondered if they were on the way to Appleby Fair in June, it would take about a month to reach by horse-drawn from where they were.

Kettle has boiled if your ready for a brew.
Uncomfortable night, tad too much yesterday but want to wash all covers/throws/dog stuff today and do some gardening stuff and some paperwork to sort.

I was going to do a grory hop this morning, but I think I'll get on with the painting instead. It's almost finished and I'll be pleased to get the furniture back in its proper place and all the stuff out of drawers and wardrobe put away again. it's amazing how much space it all takes up when it's parked on chairs and spare beds and piled on the floor. It needs some thinning out, methinks.

My GH low was 6c and had only 7c when I went out there at 7am this morning. Enjoy your Frank day Flo we're dog sitting this weekend so that'll make a nice change.
MH I've not seen a barrel-top wagon for a years I once passed one on the A38 trailing behind a Steamroller.

The temp dropped really low overnight, thankfully no frost damage.

Lots of bits and bobs on the cards todaybut nothing important.

Although it will be after noon before I post this. I actually had a good few hours sleep, in dribs and drabs.

It feels chilly with a northeasterly "breeze".🥶

Jay22, I know what you mean about deciding what to wear at the moment. I have actually polished my black leather boots (default winter wear) and put them away, but I am seriously considering getting them out again. My toes are turning to little ice cubes in my sandals and I hate and do not possess shoes. I think the hatred of shoes must run in the family as my sister was reminding me, the other day, that it wasn't at all unusual to see our mother in a duffle coat and sandals! Apart from the odd pair of trainers I think the last time I wore totally closed in shoes was when I was at school.

I have promised myself that I will clear out/organise at least one cupboard or drawer every day. Most days I have actually done it. I think today could be the turn of my bathroom cabinet. I dread to think what might be lurking in the depths At least I'm pretty sure there are no old cameras.

When everything is eventually organised, and there is space to move things around, I want to do some decorating. I actually like painting and wallpapering and so am looking forward to it.

I got most of paperwork/online stuff done and all the throws and dog stuff has been washed.
Pottered around for a bit between house (plants in there and gh) and then OH was home a decent time so got the grass cut.

Good afternoon everyone,when it's warm it IS warm,then suddenly freezing,had the heating on again for a bit today,it is great having a sort ain't it girls,son not taking us now owing to things beyond his control,so have booked a taxi both ways ,it is to much for me on buses and trains,with suit case ext,also not good for my body as a whole, having to pay taxi rides to get places,might as well have one from door to door,it is £100 each way,is aprox 1 plus half hour ride steady,just hope the weather holds ok,as we will be in the elements a lot of the time,that is if we get where we want to.
We done a bit more in the garden,when we get back it will be sow so sow seeds,will hopfully get the cues and other small bits in little pots before hand,have a lovely evening gang

Morning, well got up at 7am and the sun was shining. Thought we were in for another lovely day but nope as usual the rain is never too far away! It’s now raining and only 10°. Hope your weather is better!

Good morning.

No rain here, but grey, cold and miserable.

I keep thinking that I'll go up to the garden centre for a couple of tomato plants and a mini cucumber plant to grow on my large sunny lounge windowsill. However I don't really want them until I am no longer putting the heating on or the dry heat from the radiator will probably kill them. Maybe August?????

Sorry to hear about your gardening club, Rary. I know it's been on the cards for a while, but it must be a big wrench, calling time.

Sounds like you've got some great memories there, GF. We haven't taken pictures of ourselves for years. I must make a point of occasionally doing that. Most of our shots are landscapes and pets. And I've even stopped taking those. Perhaps I should get a proper camera out rather than just using my phone.

It's a loads-a-work day today, so better get a move on.
