  • Good morning all, it's a beautiful sunny morning here.
Lots of little jobs to do and thrn grsndson number 2 is calling before he heads off on holidays
    ..
Andraste, we haven't changed to summer bedding yet, the nights are a bit chilly.

GF, I just had a look at the mirrors here and they could with being cleaned...good reminder.

Out to the garden later...have a good day all.

And when your back stops aching,
And your hands begin to harden.
You will find yourself a partner,
In the glory of the garden.

    • Good morning

I had very little sleep again but don't feel too bad. The postie has already called and picked up my parcel that I'm sending to one of my sisters. It's a couple of books. One is the Lee Child book that I bought at the hospice shop 2 days ago and the other is a cookery book that I appear to have 2 copies of.

I'm going to call at the chemist's next. I'm just wondering if there's anything else that I ought to do while I'm out. It's sunny, but chilly with a North easterly blowing.

Whether or not I do more window and mirror cleaning today depends if the sun stays out. It's pointless trying to clean glass when the sun is on it. ...... Does that sound like a plausible excuse? The filthiest mirrors yesterday were the mirrored bathroom cabinet doors What on earth possessed me, in the past, when I really struggled to clean class, to have so many mirrors? Certainly not vanity as I very rarely look in them.

      • We only had our winter duvet of a few days OH was too hot , extra throw and a hot water bottle for me as and when required
Cold breeze out there, I've managed to get some washing out though as it's sunny
Think I will do some sowing and pricking out/potting on next.

        • I'm the hot blooded one here - and of an age where I'm constantly fluctuating to absolutely boiling Had the best nights sleep in ages last night with the summer quilt but we do have a blanket folded at the bottom of the bed just in case.

We seem to have the same weather as you today CG - looks beautifully sunny but there's a really chilly wind about.

          • My bedding is also blowing on the line. The sunshine disappeared earlier for a couple of hours and I surprised myself by cleaning my bedroom window and the mirrored doors on two double wardrobes. They really needed it. When Mr GF was ill cleaning, other than kitchen and bathroom, was minimal. A lick and a promise occasionally. After I had achieved shiny windows and mirrored doors, I looked at the TV on the wall at the end of the bed. The screen was decidedly grubby. The instructions that come with modern TVs just tell you just to dust them. It needed more than a dust.

I threw caution to the wind, gave the screen a very minimal spray of soapy water, Spread it around with the spreader and put the window vac on it. I now have a really clean/shiny TV screen ..... and the TV still works!!! I am now eyeing up the large TV in the lounge.

The sun is shining though breezy looking at the trees.
Tried sleeping back in.our bed but as I'm only sleeping on one side OH said I was snoring with the hayfever, plus didn't sleep as well so back to guest room tonight . Mattress isn't as good but remembered we have a double mattress topper we used for the caravan bed.
Going to nip for mums shopping early so off to dog walk first.

                  Kettle is boiled, help yourselves.

                      • Morning all.

You're putting me to shame, GF. All I seem to be doing at the moment is thinking about what I could be doing rather than actually doing it!

Off into the village on some errands this morning. Then home for lunch and probably a nap. Really must do some work, though.

Have a great day, everyone. Hope you manage to get yourself a decent night's sleep, CG. Any chance of you getting a mattress for the guest room that's better for your back?

Still hobbling with the aid of crutches…looks like I’m going to need to buy my own as these are only on lone for a couple of weeks.
But yes thanks…it is starting to localise and improve…slowly …slowly…but certainly in the right direction!

                              Thanks for asking!

We’re in Scotland until tomorrow then heading to the Lake District …and guess who is featuring a ‘glow in the dark’ red face ? ( sunburn!) te he…who would have thought I could burn after a couple of hours in April in Scotland!!!!…just goes to show

Apart from the back, we’re having a fantastic time. We’ve never really had a chance to visit friends as well as family before during our visits to the UK…talk about jaw- ache! It feels so good to catch up and see they are enjoying our company as much as we are theirs!
Have to say though that it’s strange seeing daffodils in flower and cherry trees and magnolia just starting to blossom…ours we’re well and truly over back home.

Not had a chance to read back, but I hope you are all doing well and enjoying the weather..let’s hope it stays for the Bank Holiday weekend! Anyone getting up to anything exciting…apart from gardening?

Right…BBQ calls….lets keep sharing those lovely smiles of ours!
