  • Mornin n’alln’all

    Well…it’s finally stopped raining
Looks like we’ll be having a pottering day in the garden…certainly in the areas accessible by gravel and paths! Yippee…finally

    Love your avatar CG

Enjoy your day peeps- I’m sure I spotted those smiles whizzing overhead earlier…looked like they were carrying something and seemed to be in a bit of a hurry tbh.

    • Morning

Rain here for the day so no gardening unless I potter around in my GH.

      • Good morning all, a sunny start to the day but its not to last.
Going to spend it in the garden until the rain arrives.
Some ironing needs doing this afternoon, so that should keep me busy for a while this afternoon.
Regarding buying clothes and footwear, I buy when we go to Spain in spring and autumn, much less expensive.
Enjoy your day all, whatever your up to.

And when your back stops aching,
And your hands begin to harden.
You will find yourself a partner,
In the glory of the garden.

            • I have literally bags of Lego from my childhood days, and my children’s…. I should hunt them out in the barn. I hadn’t realised 5 years would be old enough…thanks for the heads up!

              • Afternoon all.

Had a few errands to run this morning in the village. Done, but now all I want to do is have a little kip in Mr Snoop's reclining armchair. Can't think of a good reason why I shouldn't (he has gone to bed), so I will.

Have a great rest of the day, everyone.

                  It's rainy here too.

I never liked Lego, but I had a bayko building set, and what I loved more, a floral garden building set. Anyone remember those?

On my walk yesterday I picked some more claytonia off the local hill where it grows all over. Enough to last a week or so. It has grown so thickly this year that it has kept me in winter salad greens since the end of December. The beauty of it is that being a cold weather plant it keeps absolute ages quite happily in the fridge.

A siesta is perfectly acceptable, Snoop, any time of year. I sometimes have an unintentional one when I sit down mid afternoon....

                          • Good afternoon, a little bit of sunshine followed by some short heavy showers, daughter dropped in so available to sit with her mum and let me get out to the greenhouse for a wee while, all I am doing just now is some tidying up, I also nipped over to a local factory shop where I bought some clear plastic boxes which I will use as propagators, we both have reclining chairs, when we were buying them OH wasn't going to bother with one but when I told her that there was no way she was going to be using mine, she changed her mind, they are both mechanical and I can put mine back till its almost level , OH hasnt mastered how to do that, she just said her chair didnt go back far enough for that, which was fine till our youngr grandson came in and as gran wasnt sitting in her chair he sat down qnd promptly put the chair right back to almost level, when OH came back into the room and seeing him with it right back promptly shifted him, but she still can't get it back, I also bought her one for the conservatory but as its electric it doesn't go right back, and definitely not as comfortable as the manual chairs, though if I happen to be sitting in it and OH comes through to the conservatory I get shifted off it
Just to give an update on OH she is definitely improving, and can manage out of bed by herself, we have also cut back on the pain killers, instead of six during the day she is now managing on three though some times two some times four, but still needs the hundred mg overnight, also this week she has managed to eat a full meal which to me is a good sign have a pleasant evening and find something that makes you smile, thenpass your smiles on

it may be a struggle to reach the top, but once your over the hill your problems start.

                            • Excellent news, rary. So glad to hear it. You must be really relieved after all this time.

I've never eaten claytonia, mothhawk. It looks quite tender. I love lamb's lettuce. Is it similar?
