I have now tried the potted meat/pate/paste that I made in the slow cooker with half a kilo of belly pork, stock, garlic, wine and herbs. It didn't need any butter, or extra anything. It tastes better than any bought potted meat/paté and contains a lot less ingredients. I've got one pot in the fridge and two in the freezer and it was just so easy to make.

Two of my favourite kitchen "gadgets" were used, the stick blender and the slow cooker. My third indispensable item is my food processor. These days I rarely use my trusty old Kenwood chef, but even now I'd really miss it at Christmas.
