  • I have now tried the potted meat/pate/paste that I made in the slow cooker with half a kilo of belly pork, stock, garlic, wine and herbs. It didn't need any butter, or extra anything. It tastes better than any bought potted meat/paté and contains a lot less ingredients. I've got one pot in the fridge and two in the freezer and it was just so easy to make.

Two of my favourite kitchen "gadgets" were used, the stick blender and the slow cooker. My third indispensable item is my food processor. These days I rarely use my trusty old Kenwood chef, but even now I'd really miss it at Christmas.

      • We’ve just been doing Thai Chi for the past half hour!…it was that or go for a bike ride…so we stood on the patio in the sunshine and it was really lovely.
I think a cycle ride for 15 mins would have been less tiring!

I think a large glass of water is the order of the day after all that!p , but thanks for the offer Jay.

oh…two of those washerloads was bedding from the camper…so not as much DIY clothing as I maybe had suggested.

I treated myself to some clip binders for my family trees yesterday- due to arrive on Sunday. Guess what?…they were already delivered by the time we got back from the grory hop! Guess what I’ll be doing later

        • Another grotty day, but between the rain we managed a trip to the local supermarket, didn't need much, milk and bread mostly. £81 good job we didn't want much and there wasn't even much booze in there, just a bottle of beer to have with my curry, barely covered the bottom of the trolley.........gulp prices !!

I had a subscription to one of those family tree sites for a birthday gift, great fun. I had a family Bible that got me started on my mothers side and after three generations I found a "Sir", after that there were plenty of easy tracks back to 200 a.d. 'ish(very vague info that far back), seems I am descended from Scottish, Welsh and English nobility and even royalty, I haven't found out who lost all the money lol.

Actually I seem to come from the Aethlings, which include Alfred the Great( we don't mention Ethelred the Unready lol) also from the Stewarts of Scotland, so I may ask King Chaz when I get a shot at staying at Balmoral for a week or two....................................

                    • Morning all, morning Lord burnie.

Bright at the moment, but back to drizzle this afternoon. Got a bit more outdoors work I can do for a bit, then I'll settle down to more paid work. Gradually getting on top of it all.

Have a great day, everyone. Enjoy your puzzle, Bren.

                      • Mornin n’alln’all

Wet and dull here - but no wind which is a relief. It’s been a bitter wind recently hasn’t it?
We decided on porridge for breakfast…it’s that sort of day. Must get the fire lit too.

I’ve loads of filing to try and sort out today- no excuses now my new files have arrived. Thank goodness the weather isn’t enticing me out into the garden

Rary…how are you both getting on? Fingers crossed the antibiotics have kicked in.
I’ve had 5 courses of antibiotics since October and hoping that’s the end of them. I’m trying to get my gut bacteria up to par now as I have no doubt that all the beneficial ones have been obliterated! Might be worth you both looking into that too?

Keep warm and dry peeps…I’m hoping no one is severely affected by all the rain I’ve seen on the uk news.
Thinking of you too Snoop. Have you managed to catch a lot of your rain ready for the summer?

Keep those smiles coming- you never know who you might be cheering up

                        • Morning, it’s a dull 5° this morning. Nothing planned today, maybe a walk if the rain stays away.
                          Enjoy your filing Nicos!😀
Have a lovely day everyone. x

                          • Burnie, I’ve done my Family Tree too, one of my hobbies. Traced my family on my dad’s side to the first king of Scotland. On my mum’s side I’ve almost, but not quite, connected to Rob Roy. The only problem is no one in my family believes me, they just laugh!! 🤷🏻‍♀️😂

My daughter treated me to the Ancestry site, it was good fun(though quite expensive), but you really had to be careful, almost all of their information is what other users have put on the site and some were not very accurate, had to sort the wheat from the chaff Finding census records/birth/death certificates was the way to go. My family don't believe me either lol, though they did think it was amazing that Lady Godiva is an ancestor of ours.
