    • We’ve just taken down the decorations apart from both trees. We’ll do those later when it gets dark so I can enjoy the fairy lights just one more time.

Funny thing is, that I only like fairy lights…I’d never wear or buy anything sparkly !
Clearly it’s a Crimble thing for me.

Having said that , when we were in New York in February , many manu moons ago , they had fairy lights wrapped around all the tree trunks in the shopping areas . And yes….I absolutely loved those too!

Moi? I'm a very staid driver these days .... but not through choice. I've only ever been caught once for speeding, and that was over 30 years ago.

        • Just had a walk round the fields in the snow, but it started raining on the way back, we may get more snow it seems, I have my doubts. Saw three Roe Deer a few Wrens, Blackbirds and Robins, found some tracks near a Rabbit hole that could be Stoat, but not certain. Our decorations are still up, take them down tomorrow.

You will get caught again, there will come a time when you are driving slow enough for them to catch your registration number,
            Just
it may be a struggle to reach the top, but once your over the hill your problems start.

              • Me too.🤣🤣🤣

I must admit I like to feel the wind in my hair. We once had a RIB. I used to love taking it out on my own and getting it to "plane" over the waves. If Mr GF was in it with me there was too much weight

Evidently my nieces birthdays present has arrived at my sister's house.

The calendar that I ordered on December 27th has also eventually arrived. It's the Countryfile one, not my first choice, but the RNLI (first choice) website is a pain. I've just been copying birthdays and appointments on to it. I generally use the calendar in my phone but do like to keep a hard copy too.

                • Nothing like a flat out gallop on a horse . Absolutely exhilarating!

I was once on a Hoby Cat ( spelling?) and was in the harness hanging over the side to keep it upright when a storm was suddenly approaching …that too was an amazing experience! We flew up onto the lake beach at a rediculouse speed! Wouldn’t want to do that again but boy was that an experience!

Never fancied sky diving or anything like that or white water rafting….has anyone done those?
Hats off to you if you have!

                  • Nicos, no skydiving for me thank you. I'm not fond of heights. Mr GF loves cable cars and it took me a long time to even open my eyes when we were on board one. I have been to the top of the Eiffel tower though, but I held on tight. No, there is no way that I could jump out of a plane. I would have to be pushed. I can't say I fancy white water rafting either. I'm just not brave, or daft, enough to do either.

I wouldn't fancy potholing either. I imagine that it would feel quite damp and claustrophobic.

I have just had a glass of cold milk and some chocolate in the wild hope that they'll help me sleep.🤣🤣🤣

                    • Potholing?…yikes no…me neither!
I was watching a documentary on TV a while back where archaeologists in Africa were going down teeny tiny 25 cm wide tunnels to check out prehistoric Homo naledi bones found deep inside the ground left there around 330,000 years ago…leaving ritual scratch patterns at the time along with soot marks from light sources
Even the tiniest female of the group was commenting how tight it was as even she struggled to reach them.
I mean…let’s face it….who on earth had gone down there recently - just for fun - just exploring with no idea what they’d find? I mean…why ?….ahhh….
I was in a cold sweat just sat there watching

Here is an article about it…(but the film is even more gobsmaking) …

                      • Nope to peering out over high points, and nope to squeezing into tiny spaces. It's not that I think I'm statistically significant and an accident is bound to happen to me, just that I value what's left of my life!

Right, now I've got that out of the way: Morning all.

Shockingly cold out there but it looks like today might be a bright day. Phew. Almost free heating from the pellet heater, then. Just as well as our Italian friend and M up the valley are coming for lunch today. Loads to do before then, including cook lunch...

                        Have a great day, everyone.

                        • Good morning all.

The last of the frost, ice, and snow has been washed away by last night's rain. The world is no longer white. The sky looks quite pretty this morning with streaks of peachy coloured cloud . There is no rain or snow forecast for today.

The heating is on and the thought of coffee is beckoning me towards the kitchen.

Nicos, I find it really upsetting that just because they are supposedly educated people, archaeologists are allowed to desecrate and rob graves. A good reason to be cremated I think.

Coffee is made and the sky has now lost it's pretty orange stripes.
It's 3°C, but we are expected to go back into the freezer tonight with more of the white stuff tomorrow.🥶

                          Roll on Summer🌞

                          • Morning

No snow or ice here today, like GF says they rains washed it all away.

No potholing for me I don't like going into places where I can't see the way out. Give me open spaces any day instead.

wrap up warm and enjoy your day.

                              • Good Morning All Well, not so good for my middle GG who got stuck on black ice and a taxi couldn't stop coming down the hill and hit her car at speed. She's ok thankfully, but shaken up and waiting for the police to arrive. It just looks as though it's been raining here, but there must be a lot of black ice as people are holding on to our fence as they walk down our road.
I don't think I've ever done anything daring, I'm built for comfort not speed
                                Have a good day
