      • Good morning,

Not opened my blinds yet, but sounds very windy out there. Still trying to get the plot sorted, got one if the allotment managers meeting me next week and i am waiting to be moved into another plot(apparently they have offered plots out to people so got to wait till they hear from them) i had both my beds covered and i went down the other day and someone has uncovered all my beds. I cant lock up my plot as i share with someone else, but frustrating that people are on my plot.

Hope your scan goes okay CK

I think i am going to relax and read today or do some baking. Not sure yet.

        Have a good day

          • Good morning all.

We were late up this morning. The washer is now burbling away and I'm waiting for my grory hop delivery. Mr GF is now addicted to the supermarket's own brand Cornettos, which are a real bargain at £1.25 for four. There's more of them arriving.

I've just had a text from the chemist's to say that the prescription that the district nurse ordered for Mr GF is ready to be collected. I also need to call and see my brother in law later as he's got an errand he'd like me to do.

It should be windy and rainy at the moment, however the sun has ignored the forecast and is shining on my foot. It's quite breezy but not as wild as last night.

I hope your scan goes well, CG,🤞 and you get your results quickly.

I really ought to sort out some clothes for the charity shop. I have half a dozen pairs of jeans, two sizes smaller than I can fit into at the moment, that I can't bear to part with. My mother would never let me have any jeans as a child, too common, according to her. Obviously, as soon as I had money to buy my own clothes, I bought jeans. I can remember my first pair, Brutus jeans. I became practically surgically attached to them. Followed by many pairs of Wranglers. I, of course, always wore them when visiting my mother!

            Ah, my delivery is here.

            • Good afternoon there have been some heavy showers here today, but to be honest it doesn't really bother us, it suits OH as I am actually sitting relaxing rather than driving then walking all over the place and it suits me as OH isn't spending any money, sheer bliss for the both of us, while sitting about I have been trying to find the name of a begonia cultivar, it's a low growing tuberus begonia with masses small (maybe about threequarters inch across) red flowers, not that common nowadays, but quite a eye catching bedding plant, if anyone who could name the variety I would be most grateful for that. OH has brought a blood pressure monitor with her and she has just take my blood pressure a d is really pleased with the result, I suggested that we celebrate but all I got was a lecture about slowing down she definitely should be a professor with all the lectures she gives, ah well going for a wee snooze then a quick shower before going fir our tea enjoy youself no matter the weather abd keep smiling 🙂
it may be a struggle to reach the top, but once your over the hill your problems start.

              • Afternoon all.

My first jeans were Brutus jeans too, GF. Really comfortable. Pleated back pockets that were really useful.

No wearing of jeans today, though. Far too hot indoors and out. Looks like this heatwave will go on for a bit. Tea on a rainy day in the Lake District sounds very appealing.

                Have a nice evening, everyone.

                    • Good evening all. A warm and breezy afternoon here and plenty of sunshine.
Stocked up on some more library books and brought my grandson along as well.
Spent a good bit of time picking blackberries, very prolific this year thanks to the sunny weather.
More watering the greenhouse this afternoon as the trmp was high.

Rary, don't know the name of the begonia but I have some old garden books and will have a look.

CG good to know your scan is done, fingers crossed you dont have to wait too long for the results.

My first pair of jeans were Levi, I absolutely loved them. Seems so long ago now.
                      Enjoy your evening all.

                        • In Summer these days it's cargo shorts (mens) with loads of pockets.. I'm sure my mother would turn in her grave if she could see me wearing them at my age! I definitely rebelled against the pretty dresses, and gloves, and bonnets! I have one photo of me dressed in her idea of little girls clothes.

                          • Mornin n’alln’all

Early start. Need to go to the tip and a grory hop before they close at lunchtime.
Our son and partner are arriving today for week…can’t believe how excited I am

My first trousers ( apart from cheap jeans for working with horses) were bright red cotton . Totally out of character as I’d rather blend in…certainly at that age
The next were also Wrangler cords Bren…Brown as I recall .

Nowadays I live in decathlon black cotton leggings. I must have about 20 pairs in different stages of fading. From ‘ best’ down to only fit fit for gardening down to only fit for paining in.
When it’s really cold I’ll wear merino leggings underneath them.
Boring I know, but they are fit for purpose I think I have a pair of new jeans worn a couple of times years ago….

Anyone fancy a brew? I think I can hear OH clattering around downstairs…I’m sure he’ll oblige
