I could probably fill a freezer with grapes this year! I'm ashamed to say it's not a vine I look after, it just drapes itself through the wild plum trees. There are bunches and bunches of green grapes all over the ground too. Must be all the rain in the spring.
As for the figs, if you can beam me over the transporter, I'll beam you back figs! Interestingly, I didn't think we'd have any figs this year as it didn't bud at its usual time. Maybe it has learnt to leave it till later to avoid the frosts. Figs I do freeze for cooking with later in the year.
Edited to add: Sensible dog, CG. I wouldn't pass them by either.
Snoop Puss, having watched every episode of Star Trek avidly when young, I fully expected us to have developed ways to teleport things by now ...... but then I watched The Fly.

Not a film I've ever watched, though I've seen all the Star Trek episodes more than once...
Hope you have a nice afternoon with your sister, bramble. I'm sure she'll appreciate your company and support.
I have now got one very happy husband as I put a six pack of these on my grory hop order. Something he always loved until we got a pack of soggy ones a few years ago. He has already had one to check that the cones are crispy.
This will mean that the last two Biscoff lollies which are still hidden at the back of the freezer will more than likely (definitely) end up being mine.
I’ve seen both versions of ‘The Fly’…I still think the first one was more scary- possibly because I had no idea what to expect!
And yup…I too am a bit of a Trekkie fan.
Looking back at the first ones now, they are a bit laughable with their scenery ( and hairdos) of the time , but I always fancied having a transporter too…until I saw The Fly
I suppose it was all part of the era of the first trip to the moon etc wasn’t it? ( When asked as a child what I wanted to be when I grew up, I always said ‘The first woman to walk on the moon’ )
There’s still time of course , although I don’t think my physics is up to it
Funnily enough I always felt Captain Kirk needed a bit of a talking to as to the way he treated women. I guess it was all part of the way women were treated 50 years ago
"Nicos, Queen of Gooooogle" and... GYO's own Miss Marple
I took my brother in law for his appointment this afternoon. It wasn't at any of the local hospitals but at a "Community Diagnostic Centre." I'd never heard of it before although a few months ago I had half noticed an NHS sign go up on an ex bed/furniture shop in a retail park on the edge of the city centre, much nearer than any of the local hospitals. I'm impressed. There are evidently quite a lot of out-patient services available there, including blood tests, x-rays, and scans. Parking was abundant, close ....and free. The reception staff were pleasant and helpful. No miles of corridors to negotiate. The appointment was more or less on time as well. I have a sneaking suspicion that such a sensible idea will eventually get spoiled in some way but at the moment it gets a big thumbs up from me.
