    • I agree, Rary.

Mind you, I've worked out 46 is the answer to absolutely everything, not just everything. 42 plus 10% (the boys gave 110% kind of thing, or rather the girls today) rounded down to the nearest whole number is 42 + 4 = 46.

See, I even showed my workings so it must be right!

        • Mornin n’alln’all

Today’s number for me , for sure, will be 3.14159….Cos I’m going to make a windfall apple and blackberry and plum π . ( well…crumble tbh…)

So…back to the land of sanity…..
What’s everyone else up to today?
I need to do a grory hop and do something with a bucket full of plums ( the first of many for sure…to be closely followed on by buckets of mirabelle and bullace plums…or attack a pile of ironing.
It’s actually a nice sunny, warm and still morning so if the day pans out nicely I might manage to avoid the ironing completely!

Really lovely to see you Jay!
Many congratulations on your first cuddles with your granddaughter!…does she look similar to her sister?
Hope the antibiotics kick in quickly xx

Right…who is up for a brew?…didn't want to get one earlier incase I disturbed you.

Have a great day everyone…including all the nutters amongst us- and as Rary says…remember to share that lovely smile of yours .
Speaking of which…Snoop- what on earth have those smiles been up to- they were skitting all over the place this morning, and I could swear they had pockets full of flapjacks…

          • Morning all.

Glad you had a nice time away, Jay. Sorry to hear you've had the lurgy, though.

Bright and blowy out. A day to send a windsock wild. And Missie, who has definitely got the wind up this morning.

Jack is off to the vet's today, but I've got lots of work on so Mr Snoop will take him on his own. I mustn't forget to see if we can sort out bootees for him (Jack that is - much as I'm sure Mr Snoop would look very fetching in bootees . He has stopped growing but other things are going on. His ears don't droop so much but are starting to stick out at the sides a bit. He looks very comical.

Oh, and we have a boar back. It's been here the last two nights and is even less afraid of us than Billy Boar. I haven't seen it yet - not keen to make its acquaintance - but from its snorting, it sounds quite big.

            Have a great day, everyone.

            • As for the smiles, Missie has been running around like a mad thing this morning. I'm guessing everything flapping around in the wind has got her blood up. And she has wound Jack up something rotten. So maybe the pair of them have got the smiles all skittish. I can't take the credit for any flapjacks and they're not the kind of thing you can buy round here. Are you sure they've not been pinching something your OH made?

                • Good morning.

It's a grey, cool one again with ...... a 49% chance of rain before 10 am. We never did get any rain yesterday.

Did you find your halo, rary? I think it must have slipped off when you were plotting how to outwit Mrs Rary. Tut! Tut!

Snoop, I don't think I'd be happy about meeting a wild boar either. I know very little about them. Are they generally aggressive? Do they cause a lot of damage? Do your hunters hunt them?

I hope that you're feeling better, Jay and the antibiotics are working.

Snoop, it's a long time since I've heard the word lurgy. I remember hearing it as a child and asking my mother what it meant. I know she didn't give me a, to me, satisfactory answer. Sadly no google in those days.

I think I'll get up and make coffee now.

                  • Morning

I look at both BBC and Met office weather, the Met office round up their percentages while BBC don't. Neither of them can't predict when its going to rain though.

Jay I hope you soon feel better xx

I've not heard a mention of lurgy for years either strange how some words go out of favour.

                    enjoy your day

                    • How odd. We both use the word lurgy and it's nearly always the dreaded lurgy. I'm from the south-west and Mr Snoop is from the north-east. Maybe our parents used to listen to the same radio shows.

                      • NW in origin - and we use ‘lurgy’ quite a bit too.

                        Ha…and yes…always ‘the dreaded lurgy’

                        • Good morning dull but dry at present, doubt if we will have rain just yet as the clouds are high, just going out to water the greenhouse, then we will head for a GC for a coffee, and just to inform you GF I usually put my halo aside as OH gets suspicious if I am appearing to be very good, its "what have you done" or "what are you after" and I have a strong feeling most wives are the same, however I could be wrong, but being male I doubt it. Time to go, have good day and make someone happy with your smiles

                              • As a small child, and being unable to get a satisfactory answer, I assumed the dreaded lurgy was some sort of sexual disease that adults didn't want to talk about in front of me, or think I'd understand. I had a far wider knowledge than they ever knew as they never cottoned on to the fact that I read my father's Sunday newspaper, a tabloid full of the scandals of the day, cover to cover every week. It probably also gave me a rather distorted view of the world.
