  • We’ve had a garden day, mostly reading with bits of gardening when the clouds hid the sun.

This morning I made our lasagne so later on it will just need popping in the oven, a bit like eating a ready meal.
    Location....East Midlands.

    • Good evening all. What a beautiful day.
Our temp got up to 22degs today which is quite unusual on the east coast.
Spent a good bit of time 8n the garden and thrn collected my grandson from school.
The laundry was out and in in no time with the warm day.
Have a good evening all. 3

      • Mornin n’alln’all

So lovely having been woken by a blackbird just outside the bedroom window! Hands down waaay more beautiful than the sound of the cuckoo first thing
Looks like it’s poured down overnight. Very much needed!
Today is going to be a domestics day, rain or not.
I’ve prioritised too many other things and need to knuckle down to them.
I think that maybe in another life, I was either a lady of leisure and had someone else to do all that for me…or I was the domestic help working a 20 hr day and vowed never to do that again. ( most likely the latter) either way…I really can’t stand domestics. Still, needs must!

Flo…sorry, I’ve got a bit jumbled…is the wedding this Saturday?. If so, there must be an air of excitement with a bit of a panic setting in by now?

Jay…how interesting to hear about the other birds clubbing together to scare off the buzzard!. We literally have hundreds in our area…circling overhead, sitting on the tops of telegraph and fence posts keeping a close eye on things. When we had goslings we were warned to keep a very close eye on them as the buzzards were likely to try and take them
Never had any problem in that way with the chooks and baby chicks, which could possibly be something to do with the flexible electric mesh fence surrounding their outdoor run giving off confusing electrical signals maybe?
Always lovely Nature watching and listening isn’t it?

        So..who fancies a brew?
I forgot to filter and fill flasks with boiling water last night like I usually do ( the less time hanging around a cold kitchen first thing the better!) so it’s taken longer than usual.
Brrrr again eh?…especially as Hibou is expecting the back door to be left ajar so she can do her hockey cokey routine first thing. ( I should train her up to move the seedlings at the same time!)
Looks like our garden is ‘dinosaur free ‘ again. So pleased she keeps on the look out for them first thing. Very much ‘huntress’ behaviour apparently. Our previous cats would just wander straight out , have a wee, then come back in for food. Hibou has to check and recheck about 10 times, sniffing and cautiously looking around. She’s never spotted one, but is clearly on the lookout

So…back to the original question …anyone fancy a brew?

Enjoy your day peeps. Hope the weather is kinder than forecast over the coming Bank Holiday weekend ( ours is next weekend)

          • Morning all.

Yes please to a brew, Nicos, if there's still one going, though I do look to be rather late.

Supposedly bright today. No-one told the clouds, though it is true they're scudding along at a fair lick. Maybe they'll just move along out to sea rather than bank up when they reach the mountains.

Yesterday wasn't my most productive day. Too much faffing and not enough doing. Better change that today.

            Have a great day, everyone.

            • Morning

A bit of a dull day here so a better day for gardening.

I've already had 2 mugs of Co-op tea earlier so I'll have a Red tea this time please Nicos.

              Enjoy your day

              • Ooo….all this tea!…glad I asked
Always time for a brew…my granny’s teapot was always hot/ warm. I must take after her!

I have all sorts of tea, so yep…I can accommodate everyone’s tastes.
                Help yourselves.
My favourite is always Yorkshire but I’m quite into the three gingers at the moment.

                      • Good morning.

Oh joy, a lie in. I was awake for a couple of hours in the muddle of the night but this morning I never heard the bin men and didn't wake up until I sensed Mr GF getting out of bed at 8.45 am.

Last night, at about 11pm, I went outside to put my, and my neighbour's, bins (she's away I think) at the edge of the road. What a surprise. A little hedgehog pootling around on the grass verge. It curled up as I approached and I fetched it a saucer of water before it unfurled. (Predictive text thinks that it was "pooling" around and insisted that it "uncorked").

I've another grory hop due in the next hour.

Planting a sausage!! Flo, I had to google that before my imagination went into overdrive.

My shopping has arrived and is now put away. Time for more coffee.

( The amazing, non- gardening , things we learn on here eh?)

I’ll cross my fingers for her…hopefully the combination will work!

                          • Good morning all l,The sun is shining in between the clouds.
The greenhouse plants are watered and the laundry is out on the line.

Flo, I never heard of a sausage but there must be great excitement at your house.
Wishing you and your family a lovely day and good weather to go with it,

A visit to the hairdressers, some domestidomeand a bit of grocery shopping thrown in will take up part of the day.
Hopefully I will get out to the garden after all that,

I have never tried herbal tea but may give the ginger one a try. We use Barrys tea here.
Have a good day all ehatever your up to,
