  • By jiminy, it's our day today. Not only have we managed to get the internet up and running but my ancient jalopy has just passed its six-monthly MOT.

      • Afternoon all.

Good to see you back, Snoop and hurray for the old car - oldies are often best in many walks of life

I put my woolly pullie under my jacket to go for a walk today, that NE wind is certainly a lazy one, quite chilly.

I've given the grass a cut. I had to strim where the crocus were first, as the grass there was a good 6" to 8" long. The past few years I have left this patch to grow long till July time, to be wildlife friendly, but this year I decided I didn't want to deal with such long seedy grass again.

I also pinched out my cosmos seedlings, after seeing a utoob vid. Apparently, they are like toms, and will root along the stalk, so I've potted up half a dozen pinchings to see if they will grow.

        • We are off to the coast just for the day tomorrow- I’ve actually hunted out my thermal top !
Interestingly, there’s a huuuge garden centre ( similar to the massive uk ones) not far from where we are going ….I think there will be an ‘oooops’ moment in progress

            • Morning all.

Hope you have a lovely day, Nicos. A garden centre sounds like fun. Now all you need is an Ikea nearby!

The sun's shining, but it was a really chilly start to the day. Could easily have put the range on last night and will definitely do so if it's another cold evening. Just as well I'm still doing the hokey-cokey with the seedlings.

Same as yesterday on the cards for today. But better that than nothing.

              Have a great day everyone.

              • Mornin n’alln’all

Tis our wedding anniversary today…hence the trip to the coast and garden centre.
Do please raise a glass if you feel in need of an excuse
Looking very dull outside at the moment and windy…brings back memories of summer holidays by the beach when I was a nipper. Just need a bit of fine drizzle to set the scene

                IKEA?…oh my…don’t tempt me Snoop…there IS one

Enjoy your day peeps….and remember to share those smiles!

                • Good morning all.

It's a chilly morning here, with a lot of cloud but still no sign of rain.

The hairdresser is due just before noon to give us both a trim. She is brilliant but has stopped taking on new clients and two not very mobile friends are desperate to get a haircut. I'm sure any decent mobile hairdresser near here could make a fortune just going around assisted living flats.

mothhawk, I hate all shopping these days, but shoes I really do need to try on. I dread having to buy new ones as the one handy shoe shop that I could park close to and usually find something I like in has closed down.

I intend calling round to see my brother in law later, he needs some paperwork sorting out.

Off to strip the bed now and get the washer earning it's living.

                  • I'm another who, despite hating shopping, has always had a soft spot for IKEA. All the bits and bobs that I never knew I needed. I really like assembling their stuff too.

Enjoy your wedding anniversary, Nicos. Are you going out for a meal? I can't remember when our anniversary is. I do know it was early December and we went on a cruise for our honeymoon.

                            • Good afternoon.

I can't stop shivering. The heating is on. Mr GF is warm .... so it must be me🥶. I'm sitting here with a big hoodie on, with the hood up and my feet tucked in. I'm thinking of getting a hot water bottle or two out next or borrowing Mr GF's heated throw.

We did, however get our hair cut earlier. Mr GF was starting to look like a mad professor.

                              • Evenin n’alln’all

Thanks for all your kind wishes peeps

We had a great day by the beach thanks ( ‘feels like 4C’ was rather off putting) so we had our picnic inside the camper- listening to the howling wind. Nice watching sand surfing, horses galloping and dog walkers and then a gentle wander collecting seashells and sea glass.
I say we had a ‘wander’ along the beach…more like a blow along the beach!…and nipped into the garden centre on the way there…but they had nothing we were looking for. OH’s impulse purchase were some quinoa seeds to plant, mine was an organic caramel sauce to go with our apple tart this evening.
And yes…we did manage to avoid the IKEA turnoff

Hope you get sorted with your shoes Flo…I absolutely hate shoe shopping- worse than clothes shopping- so you have my sympathy. Just be comfortable - I’ve seen brides wearing trainers and wellies after the main event…so if they can….

First thing I did when I got in was to light the fire!…brrrr….what a difference in just a few days.

Lottie…sounds like you are well on target now with your greenhouse- well done.
