Ta for the tea and crumpets, CG. It's a long time since I had crumpets for breakfast! Then I'm going to do the same, off out for a walk before it gets too hot. best time of day, early morning.

I have one small section of the drive and garden to focus on today. It’s in the shade so perhaps that’s a good thing given it’s supposed to hit 28C later on.

Just realised that it’s May tomorrow and it’ll be a Bank Holiday here

Crumpets yes please CG, i rarely have crumpets they're so messy so I get covered in butter not good when I'm sat at my PC.

Nicos we have a few days to wait our May bank holiday is on the 5th.

Good Morning All That breakfast sounds good CG. My grandson has to do 2 years internship before he specialises. He is considering orthopaedic surgery up to now. Thanks for all your congratulations, we're really proud of him.

Good morning.

We're forecast to have a high of 25 or 26°C here today!!! I can't believe it. Am I really in Yorkshire in April?

I've just added apples and onions to my shopping list to make another batch of the date and apple chutney in the the slow cooker. We opened a jar last night and I was impressed, even though it's only been made for two weeks. Also making it in the slow cooker means less smell and heat in the kitchen.

I'm calling round at my brother in law's later to set up his new TV for him. It arrived yesterday evening.

A domestics and gardening day herd and then collecting my grandson from school.

Morning all,crumpets are also good with cheese toasted on top,it is warm again,got a loaf going,washing in the machine,seem to have a little burst of energy this morning,so must embrace it while it lasts,have a good day all and take care in this heat

What beautiful weather! I think a G & T with lots of ice is on the agenda shortly. Or a cool pint of bitter.

I've just been and set up my brother in law's TV. He's happy with it. Setting it up was easy, tech things get simpler and more universal as time goes on, I think. It's hard to believe that not too long ago every telephone and tool had a different charger. Somewhere I have a box full of old chargers and I have no idea what they were for. I really must recycle them.

I think I'll go and make some mayonnaise next and hardboil a couple of eggs.

Phew! First time scorchio this year. I tried knitting outside but only lasted half an hour. Not complaining though, it's lovely

I've spent the day either gardening or hiding indoors away from the sun, then backout again for more gardening.

Good evening, it has been a very warm day today did some shopping this morning, once back home I was out to the garden, where basically I have been busy doing nothing all day long though I did fit an enviromesh cover over the opening of my poly tunnel which will help cool it down a bit, the broccoli looks a bit stretched which will be due to the high temperatures though the lettuce looks fine so will see how things go, now going out to cut the grass while its dry and warm as the forecast is for tge temw to drop quite a bit tomorrow, have a good evening and smile

Good evening all. What a beautiful sunny day.
Laundry out and dry in a few hours.
Popped into he flower shop on my way to collect grandson and bought 8 pots of trailing geraniums.
I have lots of geraniums already but I didn't prune thrm hard enough so they are gone a bit leggy.
Spent the end of the evening playing junior monopoly with my grandson.
A busy but very enjoyable day.

Going for the food shop early then I will be outside again.

OH got up early to make bread and brought me a brew.

Another lovely day forecast , so a few more domestics then gardening until our friends come to stay. Just for a couple of nights, but I can only imagine there will be rather a lot of nattering and catching up to be done later

If time, I hope to pot up my window boxes with the geranium I bought the other day.
Bit risky given our historical last frost dates but I’ve got fleece if needs be.
Which reminds me!….its May!
I like to have a sprig of cherry blossom to celebrate but it looks like apple blossom is the way to go this year seeing as my cherry blossom on both trees is well and truly over.

Are May Day parades/ Fairs still a thing? I have happy memories of them as a child ..and for my own children.

Here it’s more of a Trade Union day ‘Labour Day’ celebrating workers rights which were hard gained….and most shops are closed. Strangely small bouquets or plants of lily of the valley are given in celebration ( it’s quite a big thing to do)

I bet get a wiggle on….things to do!
