Its rained here all day no gardening for me, instead I read and did more to my latest jigsaw puzzle.

Good night all.
Just popping in before it's Tuesdsy.
We were without power from 6 'oclovk this morning unil 11. 0'clock tonight.
So, a pretty miserable bank holiday.

Oh gosh bramble..were you able to keep warm and cook?
More frustrating once it got dark too no doubt?
I guess that was unexpected being a Bank Holiday….but glad to have you back x

Kettle is on
We didn't get the heavy rain yesterday but that wind was still cold. Aiming to bake a bread, pay bills and get myself outside/greenhouse today.
Currently rather foggy out there, but much lighter.

Good morning.

I've been awake since before 5 am but I think the sleep I had was uninterrupted, as I feel alert.

It feels chilly here. I've just turned the thermostat up.

I made a couple of jars of cherry and brandy jam yesterday. The next time I order frozen fruit in my grory hop I might get some frozen mango and have a go at either mango chutney or mango jam.

I've got a supermarket delivery due this morning between 10am and 11am. I'm hoping that they've got nice strawberries again. A bottle of gin, to use up the lonely little lime in my fridge, did sneak in there.

Although it's daylight there's no sign of the sun, just grey murk so far. I think I'll try snuggling down for another hour.

We had a light frost here first thing so it’s still feeling chill. It was cloudy when I went to bed so didn’t get a chance to check out the Lyrid meteor shower last night…hopefully there will be another chance tonight.

Swimming on the books for me later. There’s a heated outdoor pool opened not far away so I’m going to check it out.
I’ll probably spend the rest of the day recovering!

Anyone fancy a brew? I’ve woken up feeling very thirsty for some reason.
Enjoy the day folks…hopefully your electricity is sorted bramble and it wasn’t a matter of a ‘quick fix’ given that it took so long to sort out. It’d be interesting to find out the cause.

A dry day here its already 33c in my GH thats with louvers and auto vent open. Seed sowing today and some freezer shopping.

Yes all power restored and back to normal.
Wehada camping stove to make tea but we got a takeout for our dinner.
The cold and the dark were thee worst so we had an early night.

Good morning again.

That was a long power cut, Bramble. Fortunately I've got a gas cooker, but last time we had a power cut, I realised that I didn't have any matches or a lighter to ignite the gas which is normally lit by the electricity. Eventually, I remembered my little cooks flamethrower, which did the job.

I've got my supermarket delivery now and it's all put away.

I hope you enjoy your swimming, Nicos. It sounds a bit cold at this time of the year. My goosebumps are coming out in sympathy with you.

Mr GF has just had some of yesterday's jam which didn't fit in the jars, with his croissant, and given it a big thumbs up.

Afternoon a bit off sunshine here,glad to hear good things about Hibou,that was a long time without power Bramble,pleased it is now sorted,not been on for a day or two,as i am not to good again,the good news is,although i still cannot sing and talk as i once did,things are a bit easier,and people can now understand what i am taking about,the cough is still a nightmare,and now my tummy has joined in the game,so not good the last week,i will be glad when i have had the dreaded cameras,and they CAN say what the heck it wrong with me,been a long time now,got a phone chat with the relevent team nurse,about things,so hope to get an apointment soon as,i am blessed with having a new man in my life,he so careing and is wanting to be by my side,take care all and Bgood2yorselves

Well, I’m back.
And the ‘swimming’ was fun.
Not as cold as I was dreading either…. The sun shone and OH even got a touch of sunburn
There was a super powerful water jet which I hogged to deep massage my back and neck too…and it’s worked wonders.
And the bonus?…there were only 3 other people there with us! Fantastic.
Planning on going twice a week from now on …if possible. Come rain or shine…in theory!

How frustrating that you are still struggling lottie, I have my fingers and toes crossed your appointment comes through soon xx

Nicos that swim and massage sounds wonderfull,especially almost to yourself,did a small amout of pricking out in the greenhouse,now come in for a rest with feet up,tother half will be here soon

Glad to hear you didn't freeze swimming Nicos, its not something i fancy doing though.
