Thank you friends for the good wishes,this evening is the best i felt in the last 2.5 weeks,apart from the new meds,have had some special cuddles ,he came with a fruit selection for me,hope i can actually stay in the bed and sleep for longer than a couple off hours,

Famous last words about the cold passing me by. Fingers crossed it moves on fast...

Busy food preparation day today. Didn't get anything done yesterday in advance of the visitors arriving this evening, so I'd better get to it today. Well, not entirely true, I did make a soup, but it has gone a very odd colour (my usual cauli and pear soup but the pears have turned purple for some reason), so I'd better make another, one with no pears or cauli I think. And I also made a cake, some of which went the way of all cakes, so I'd better make another...

.Good morning all,a bit a brightness in the sky here as well,OH ek Snoop,if it's only the look of the soup,swirl a bit of cream on the individual servings to give it that charmed look,we got purple spuds,why not soup,ref cake,is it really that bad,can you use it to create something different,like a triffle,am sure others on here will come up with some ideas,
Am pleased to say,the new meds are working,had a better sleep,chest is still very raspy and voice no change,also got my hearing back,at least it is loosening,so hope by next week end i will be better,as i am due to go to see the ballet Cinderella with friends in Birmingham,this has been booked for several months,enjoy your day all and stay safe

Good morning.

A chilly 3°C here. I've just looked at the forecast. Possible sleet/snow for tomorrow night and Sunday. ❄️❄️

Apart from being wide awake at 4am, and struggling to drop back to sleep, I slept well with my new hot water bottle, and didn't wake up to a puddle in the bed and saturated bedding. I will definitely replace these bottles when they get to about 2 years old, preferably in another sale. They really were a bargain.

There is nothing that I have to do today so I might eventually get round to making the raspberry jam with the frozen raspberries which will also free up some freezer space. We are halfway down my last jar now.

Snoop I hope you throw off your germs quickly. Lottie, glad you're on the mend.

Yikes bramble..do you still have sopping wet clothes stuck in the washing machine? Hope they don’t go mouldy?

Nothing planned for today, but tomorrow we are taking the car to get two new tyres as suggested at the MOT.
They weren’t worn enough to have caused to car to be stuck in the slimy mud , but it must have been a bit of a contributing factor.
We took it to the car wash yesterday too…wouldn’t have been fair to ask someone to work on the wheels in the state it was in!
There is a place opposite which sells second hand items on behalf of the sellers, so rather than just hanging around for a hour we’ll probably take a wander over there. Not that we need anything, but ya just never know!
I do need to go through my things and sell stuff we don’t need any more. We still have inherited items we don’t want but were too good to send to charity. It’ll be good to get some of them sold even at a bargain price.

Thanks for the advice guys. I've whizzed the soup up and it tastes OK, but it's a really unappealing dirty dishwater brown. Thick but nasty looking! Anyway, cream is a good idea, maybe with a bit of blue cheese in it, so that can take the blame for the colour.

As for the cake, LD, there's absolutely nothing wrong with the cake, except we ate a lot... And it doesn't look good giving guests a cake that's missing a huge chunk, so the leftovers have gone in the freezer. If I don't make another today, I'll make it tomorrow morning.
