^^ oh wow!...never even heard of them before. Looks a bit like a cross between a lizard and a slow worm, but fatter.

I was just about to post that I’m really chuffed as our toad is back again. He/ she lives around the pots near the front door. It’s a good place as they get well watered during the dry summer months.

My happy yesterday was hearing a woodpecker just outside our lounge window.

On closer inspection we suddenly realised it wasn’t pecking at the nearby tree but at the large insect house my OH had made

There we were thinking that we were supporting and protecting the local insect population when we were actually providing a buffet
Had to chuckle though .

There’s a toad that lives at the bottom of our garden saw him the other day when I was weeding & last night on the slug hunt with a torch,he likes the bucket of water with wooden ramp next to the summerhouse rather than the patio tiny pond,there’s more shelter,weeds & bugs at the bottom of the garden tho

Harvested some of the garlic early because of rust and found the bulbs are a really good size.

Out watering this morning to a background soundtrack of three nests of fledglings chivvying their parents. Third clutches? Probably all millipede fuelled.

I was just tying in the cucumbers & tomatoes & spotted this cucumber hiding behind a leaf,I didn’t know one of my plants was growing so well,it’s nice when that happens

Yesterday I actually got to pick some blueberries before the birds stole them!
