Seeing an orchid unexpectedly coming into flower.
I watered it 2 months ago and put it in a bright but warm room and forgot about it Suddenly remembered and went to water it only to find it’s started flowering again for the 3rd time in less than 2 years!
And yep....it’s in the lounge now

It started to snow here about 5 minutes ago, it looks so pretty in the light from the street lamp.

Watching about at least six redwings, first ones this year, on very large ivy.

What was fascinating was when something spooked them. They disappeared by dropping into the ivy.

Got a few shots, but not very good as hand held 300mm. Must try to set up a tripod. in case they come back.

Birds eating seeds. A small and not unusual sight but definitely a joy to see.

Happy to have set up my Xmas pressi...A wildlife camera!
It's fixed on a tree in the garden near where we think foxes squeeze under the wire fence.
Our neighbour said there is a badger den in the chestnut wood next to the house so it might even be one of those!
                    Exciting!!!

Hearing the barn owls screeching last night ( probably saying “ blinking ‘eck it’s windy!”)
I’ve also heard the Tawny owls but the barn owls are rarer here, so that was wonderful hearing a couple chatting each other up!

might be a good time to think about getting up more bird houses for the other garden birds....looks like spring is on its way!

I sowed some mùstard and cress a couple of days ago and left it covered on a radiator.
I suddenly remembered it this morning and it's grown about 3cm!!!!

Didnt expect it to be that fast, so I best get some eggs hard boiled..I've been fancying an egg and cress butty for a while now!

While out in the garden this afternoon, spotted the first crocus in blossom.
                            First signs of spring.

And when your back stops aching,
And your hands begin to harden.
You will find yourself a partner,
In the glory of the garden.
