Chillies definitely need to be handled with respesct. I always wear gloves since an incident involving my nose Recently my husband was handling chillies from the freezer and touched his eye Be careful and be warned

Done that before now. Thought I'd washed it off, then went to take my contact lenses out....

Not only chillies! I was happily picking dandelions for wine (feel like I'm on the wrong board for this!) and must have rubbed my eye. The white part swelled up something chronic and my eye looked like a fried egg! Himself took me to the A&E - we passed a sign that said 'Accidents, walking' and he said 'That's you!'. They put some drops in but it went down the same day. Looked and felt nasty though.
