He is called Murphy, and he's 4 months old...
He arrived at the end of August, but has been too little to "help" in the big garden, so he's been confined a bit to a smaller bit of lawn!
We got him to be a friend for Max (they are brothers) but now we just have 2 whirling dervishes in the garden instead of 1!

Max a dog i had as a child came in once with a corn cob he had knicked out of the garden
and eat the lot

Both Max and Murphy have been helping themselves to our windfall fruit... they like plums, pears and apples...
The plums get eaten whole and they play chase with pears and apples, take a few bites and leave them in the kitchen for me
I've also caught Murphy trying to steal tomatoes straight off the plants

Both OH and I work full time; however, I work during the day and he works lates/nights.
It works out quite well (for the dogs!) and means that although the boys get left alone for part of the day, it's usually only a couple of hours.
We're pretty lucky in that there is also a good professional dog-walker not far from us, who can pop in and let the boys out if we're running late etc.Comment

Yesterday I was pruning out a huge kiwi grove, ably assisted by my chums two cocker spaniels - trouble is they were too short to reach the old wood I was trying to clear.
When I'm in my garden my oldest cat - I now have three very mature cats - insists on coming to sit and watch me, sits on the beds, gets under my feet in general, and makes very loud purring noises until I stop what I'm doing and give him some attention. I blame all their previous owners for not training them to pass the tools - ok they can't use the long handled stuff but what's wrong with using a dibber, bulb planter and the like?TonyF, Dordogne 24220Comment
