  • SWMBO always called a hermit, I think nothing of climbing mountains on my own or going fishing in the middle of the night on my own, either stood in the middle of a river after sea trout or standing on a rocky shore in a storm in winter after a Cod, people can often get in the way. When out stalking animals with my camera, I definitely prefer to be on my own, people are too noisy...……………………...though when I do mix you can't shut me up lol.

Not intending to be doom and gloom but I just don't think it's worth it!
We've just been talking about the same. Need some meds from the pharmacist this coming week, will get some UHT milk and eggs in at the same time and try and stay put for the next three weeks if we can. Veg will be a problem, but I'm sure we could manage. Got several kilos of lentils plus other beans stocked up from before winter. Might get a bit windy..., but we can always blame the dogs.

CG, the rolls didn't get made. The consensus was more buns required. I've made some ordinary milk rolls instead. Will give the hokkaido ones a go next week and let you know. Apparently they're very soft, quite like brioche.

            • I don't really need an excuse to stay in. Only try different so the girls grow up not thinking it is the norm, but if it gives them a bit more safety then so be it.

                  • Ill be honest the only thing thats changed for me during these odd times. Is Im not going to work on a Saturday. Everything else is the same. Not going any farther than the garden and not seeing anyone. I believe Ive said before I can easily go a fortnight without seeing anyone (I really am an unsociable recluse)
Bobs being home is a bit odd. Hes quiet helpful in the garden ( under supervision obviously ), No doubt he will soon get board and disappear back into his work shop.

                          • As we are both over 70 we are on lockdown.
I miss going to the library, going into town to browse the shops, miss my walks in the park, miss going to church and of course missing my family especially my little grandson now aged 21 months.
No problem with OH as he had been retired for over 20 years.
It's hard to stay positive when there is no end in sight.

And when your back stops aching,
And your hands begin to harden.
You will find yourself a partner,

                            • I'm in a similar boat as far as not going out is concerned, but really it doesn't mean I've altered my habits much. I used to go out once a week to the bridge club which is of course now shut down, and once or twice to do a bit of shopping. I suppose being lazy helps, as I don't feel any inclination to do anything much a lot of the time - plus I don't like crowds or noise or traffic or towns :-)

Mrs Nick is however as predicted having to work from home, and she really doesn't like it much as she is pretty social. Out of self-preservation I am trying to keep a low profile....

                              • I want to get out in the garden and do some more work on my little patch. However, the children next door are all outside. I'm happy that there is no risk to them from me also being out in my garden (and I can largely be 2m away from them, and on the other side of a fence), but at this time of heightened anxiety, I'm not sure that their parents will feel the same way! Especially as there is a fair chance they may try and chat to me. So I am hiding inside and hoping they go in for dinner soon so I can go outside.
